Ok so I don't know if I'm the only one who buys a lot of copies of games that I really love, but I always buy copies of the game "Alexi Lalas International Soccer" for the PS1 when I find them.

There are a lot of games out there that are just downright badly made, but are still fun, and this is definitely one of them in my opinion.
I first bought this game in a clearance bin at a Target store around 2000, and since then I have loved it.
It has horrendous graphics, the physics are downright impossible, and the controls are terrible, and it received reviews of "Even the die-hard soccer fan will want to skip this one." upon release, but it is honestly one of my favorite games of all time, and I currently own like 7 copies of it, just as a joke to myself.

So, what games do you love that you think no one else does?

I was the biggest fan of Activision's Battlezone, which was an RTS/FPS hybrid, back in the day. The system worked so well I'm surprised there haven't been more RTS/FPS games like that...unfortunately, the game wasn't that popular and nowadays it seems mostly (unfairly) forgotten.

Homeworld and VirtualON: is like nobody plays/cares about these games anymore.

Now both are property of Segammy now, coincidence? probably

Sega doesn't own the rights to Homeworld and never did, Gearbox bought the rights from THQ this year when they went bankrupt.

Wikipedia: On April 22, 2013 it was announced that Gearbox Software acquired the rights to the Homeworld franchise as the highest bidder in THQ's auction for $1.35 million.[SUP][8][/SUP][SUP][9]

Niche my ass, those games have an inexplicably big fanbase.

It is some sort of program (bios) that allows to run CD-Rom² Games on the PC Engine.

The PC Engine was the first home console with a CD add on peripheral. They interfaced with the console. The original CD unit had a cool briefcase that interfaced the the console & CD Unit. Later CD units (Super CD ROM) attached directly to the back of the console via the expansion port of the PC Engine. Other systems has both the hu card & CD units packaged together (Turbo/PC Engine Duo).

So the system card held the BIOS data & additional RAM to run CD games. There were a handful of different system cards (6 maybe?). Generally, the newer system cards had total backwards compatibility, but I think there's some weird glitch with Altered Beast where it requires version 1 of the system card.

It might sound confusing, but it is worth it to play Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Lords of Thunder, Cotton & Ys.

Maybe not exactly niche, but I like Wario World for the Gamecube a lot. I completed it several times with 100% progress... if only Super Mario Sunshine would've been this much fun in terms of jumping around. Wario World went by quite unnoticed when it came out and was even criticized for some minor stuff. Frankly, I think it represents what Super Mario Sunshine never was: A platformer full of variety with tons of creative puzzle-style platformer stages... not a cleaning lady simulation.

"Sonic R" and "Braindead 13". Sonic R is probably one of the most hated Sonic games ever made, but I really enjoyed it and have had many 100% complete saves over the years. Braindead 13 I played so much that I ended up being able to do a perfect run from start to finish using sound alone as a guide / no video (something I can't say for any other game).
