Oh, now that you mention Braindead 13, I remember the game called "Strahl" - released for 3DO, Mega-LD and Sega Saturn.

It's just another interactive movie kind of game with horribly compressed graphics (on Saturn and 3DO), but man, it's so trippy and awesome! Did anyone watch Gentlemen Broncos? Then you know the kind of science-fiction you can expect. :)

I finished the game in one night with plenty of beer and I can't wait to get my hands on it again soon. It's super trashy and full of crazy plot-twists. You want to know where those stone-dragons just came from and why they turned into gigantic icecube-throwing mud-monsters a second later right before the whole planet exploded? Then this is NOT your game!

5/5 stoner-points! It's available for maybe $10 for the Japanese Saturn... or Mega LD/3DO, if you prefer/can afford.

back before the recent fighting game boom, you could say as a arcade stick builder I was part of an extreme niche.

Off the top of my head, Sonic Drift 1 & 2 for the Game Gear.

Just because sonic is in a car doesn't mean it is a bad game, but most people seem to hate the games. It is one of the few games I find replay value in (I have so many games, I'm not fast to replay most games). I know it is just a Mario Kart rip-off, but somehow I find it more fun. Maybe because of the supposed "3D" style combined with the power-up system. Sonic Drift is good for a relaxed play and Sonic Drift 2 is good for a competitive play with most races ending up in a photo finish.

On behalf of my sister, she likes the NES version of Mario's Time Machine.

You know this forum is about bad games you enjoy right? I gave up at labyrinth zone act 3. It is just way to slow. You know how long it took to get to the end of Act 3 BTW? 40 minutes. I made it to the boss, but that's as far as I could go. I actually got to the part right before the boss where the water rises, and missed the cork things (name?). I wasn't playing with the spin dash and apparently in this port it is impossible to make it without using it.

EDIT: OK. I think I am just ranting about the game now.

The original arcade Double Dragon, memorable (to me) for being the only coin-op just about anyone could finish once you mastered the 'elbow' attack...quite an oversight considering those classic arcades (Shinobi, Rastan, Ghosts n' Goblins, etc..) were all bastard hard and designed to steal as much money as possible from the average punter.

The glitches, moving slowly across the screen to trigger one enemy at a time, or kick them off the 'invisible ledge' to the upper left of the screen... then there's Willy's balcony - was it possible to get a buddy to throw you up and grab the machine-gun? (the answer should be on YouTube)

Then there's the music... over 20 years later it's still as fresh in my mind as though I heard it yesterday

Over the years I'd look around and I think I found a Double Dragon Dojo, or something similar, with a small group of fans. I even owned the original PCB (just a shame the Jamma unit was fucked from day 1. :( )

Whatever fanbase there is, it's small... and scattered around random people and scraps of websites - but I don't think I'm alone (... that would be worrying!) :)It's a weird one because you often hear praise for it on the NES - My one trip to the States I spent a large chunk of it trying to finish part 2 - which I did, eventually. It looks crap, played like a brick - but there's just something about it that makes it extremely playable - when it really shouldn't be.

F-Zero. Go to the Offical Nintendo Magazine forums and people are like "ITS A TEWRRIBLE GMAE!!!" "BORING!1!!". Its a shame as it's easily overlooked by Mario kart's abundant sucess, when F-Zero has such potential in the modern era that is sadly unexplored, plus alot of different types of games that would fit into the F-Zero universe. However, if Nintendo did bring the franchise back, I think they'd put a 'family friendly' screen over it all- no more deathrace, retrospects on the history (which is pretty brutal for a Nintendo Franchise), etc. Makes me very split on which studio would be right for developing a future entry in the series.
