well i know this forum is of no use, i just need to vent my frustration

Like many....ive found myself watching G4TechTV, originally i suscribed for techtv, and ever since the merger, things have gone down hill....first the cancelation of call for help, just recently brought back by canadian company Rogers....then The screensavers.,.....gone!/....that peeved me off....the only bright spot was Icons, a show based on the biographies of games and such....Every tuesday i rush home from the daily grind to watch said show.....

4 weeks ago they showed an episode on Splinter Cell.................thing is, for the last 4 weeks, EVERY SINGLE EPISODE HAS BEEN THE SAME DAMM ONE......i could understand it being on twice...but 4 WEEKS IN A ROW!!!....then my mom wonders why i spend time infront of the computer......ill definatly be unsubscribing if this continues....

...now back to my master model railroad haha....

Maybe the show got cancelled. I have the channel, I just don't watch it at all, but I loved TechTV back in the day.

I have the channel in another part of the house, but I dont watch it much. I'd like to be able to have G4Tech and Cartoon Network at the same time in my room, though!

Actually, I dont have Cartoon Network, but I watch it whenever I can. Usually at my Uncles house. We get G4Tech, but not Cartoon Network on our service. I dont get the service in my room, either, so I dont get the chance to watch G4Tech in my room much.

I miss TechTV sooooooo much :crying: It had the best shows EVER! The Screen Savers, Call For Help, Nerd Nation, Conspiracies, Unscrewed, etc. They cut most of TechTV's shows after the merger, then just dropped almost all support whatsoever. G4 really sucks ass.

i even liked their logo better....screensavers with patrick norton and leo laporte( not to forget yoshi!) was the best...patrick norton now works for CNET.....you've reminded me of all the shows that were great......those shows are no longer in syndication and the rights are prolbably gone...would that mean obtaining them would not be illegal?

Cartoon Networks gone downhill too, they never show any of the good stuff, like Dexter, Johnny Bravo, and that stuff. It's always cookie cutter super heroe or cartoon things. Adult Swim really pisses me off now too, with there dumb little "bump" things and the fact there replacing all the good shows that were there for a long time with there new crappy shows. But hey, still better then freakin G4. I haven't had TechTV for awhile but it sounds to me like everythings gone to hell, I wonder if even dumb people watch that channel. I can't belive they got rid of Screensavers?

I agree with you 100%. There's a whole list of shows I can name, including some Nickelodeon shows like Rugrats and such. I miss the shows they started showing on Adult Swim, and wish they would show Family Guy earlier.

The good thing is that with the Comcast Cable & High Speed Internet, they offer On Demand Comcast, so I can watch old classics live and stop anytime. Ah, those Bugs Bunny Episodes, Powerpuff girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Thundercats :love2:...

As for TechTV, never heard about it, unfortunately. :-(

realisitcly all cartoon network has going for it atm is adult swim, but they dont show alot of my fav show anymore, home movies got canceled fairily quickly, but must admit considering it didnt do as well as soup 2 nuts other show dr katz, its a bit understanding. Im shcoekd the never brought mission hill back for new episodes. I mean tehy could just do it all computer now, but then again alot fo cartoons are doing that and seems to cheapen their look alot.

Well, I can tell you what happened to both Dexter and Johnny Bravo. Both of them had their animation styles, and voices changed. Johnny Bravo had its whole formula retuned like three times. Each progessively shittier than the last.

As for adult swim, they're expanding it more than cancelling shows. The only adult swim originals I can think of that have been cancelled are Space Ghost, Brak, and Tom Goes to the Mayor (most likely). Only one of those (Brak Show) was funny...but it just doesn't speak to most people. The Sealab people stopped it on their own free will to do other things...and Aqua teen is going onward. That leaves boring ol' Family Guy and hilarious Futurama...and some anime that I don't really watch. It hasn't changed much.

Dexter, Powerpuff Girls, and Johnny Bravo all had their animation changed, all which I didn't like. They basically ruined Dexter's Lab. I kinda stopped watching Cartoon Network when they finished the DragonBall Z series.

Both Cartoon Network & Nickelodeon need to be reminded all change is not good, but hey, who has time for such when there's Desperate Housewives, the Apprentice, and Monday Night Football.

I think what a lot of people don't know is that Spac Ghost: Coast to Coast has been around since LONG before adult swim. Back then it was actually funny, though. I think it really went downhill when they tried to "spice" it up, which was basically a trade in of real comedy for "shock factor". I remember when that happened. Cartoon Network isn't what it used to be...

Yeah, they stopped showing DBZ about a month or two ago. I was watching it every night at 10:30, and they were on the Freeza saga, but then they quit showing it.

Ah. All I remember is when they actually finished the Buu Saga, like about 2 or 3 yrs ago, then I had less free time at home. The thing is that they were long done with DBZ in France back in 1998, and I collected the whole Buu Saga comics. What's funny is that the rest of the American DBZ comics have not been completed yet! I may be wrong though.

I also remember Space Ghost Coast to Coast years back, but was shown way too late for me.

I use to love that show! They also had good stuff on early like Freakazoid and crap, and a looonggg time ago a lot of those Cartoon Network shows like Dexter and Space Ghost would be on TBS occasionally; we didn't have Cartoon Network in Montana back then so that was the only place I rarely ever saw those. But god damn, it seems like the decent stuff on TV is pretty much dead now. I mean even Family Guy, that show was pretty funny back when it was first out but noone watched it! Then they bring it back on Cartoon Network and it's instant gold? I thought it was sort of cool it came back, but they totally ruined it with the shock factor over humor and other stupid overdone joke crap. I guess they had to make it cater to idiots who decided to watch it when it was "in" or something.

I always thought that it started the death spiral when they moved that no talent bimbo to X-Play. Of course, it did mean that she left TSS, but the combination of Leo's Apple fanaticism and the irrelevant/overabundant interviews always made TSS unwatchable for me.
