Think you will find this is a place for people to discuss games, gaming and consoles. Think you might be in the wrong place. GoH has previous of insulting Sony over and over, until he buys a playstation - then its the best thing ever. This is why I asked for specifics. As mentioned the Xbox one is probably in the best position its been in since launch - very much counter to GoH's comment that everything is now going against them. Nothing to do with fanboy vs fanboy or console vs console.
Alright, that's the last straw. You're honestly being a bit of a prick to people on all sides, and you've been nothing but rude to me from day one. Ignored, I suggest others do the same.
I've never been rude to you. If you are talking about when you were trying to fault find an amiga 2000 but didn't know what a trace was or how a multimeter worked - I suggested it was beyond your current knowledge. If you think the truth is rude and me protecting hardware you were only going to make worse, that someone else could repair is rude, then you have issues. The archive of that is here: http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/shoutbox-archive-2015.56731/page-186#post-844354 But what ever you say. If anyone else wants to ignore me, they are welcome to do so too. I won't be losing any sleep! I was responding to someone calling what I was talking about "petty" that hasn't been here long enough (much like yourself!) to have any context of the discussion. I said this is a gaming forum and is exactly the type of place the pros and cons of 2 platforms are going to be compared and discussed. If someone calls what I'm saying is petty or not a topic for this forum, I'm going to respond to it.
He hasn't been a prick to me. I think there's a difference between being blunt and being rude. Bad_Ad is very blunt, and I think some people take that as rudeness or disrespect. Not everybody communicates the same way or reacts/responds to communication the same way. I find ignoring people to be a bit petty. Let's not be volatile about this. I would get an XBONE for RARE Replay alone, but from what I hear there are issues with playing with bigger save files. Similar to the issue the console ports of Skyrim were having. A buddy just got one and he really likes it so far.
To me I see this as a death knell to the XBONE. The Next XBOX might be something more akin to a Steam box rather than a full fledged console. Not sure if that shits gonna fly or not but we'll see.
There's a huge line between discussion and petty arguments. If you're trying to tell me that any 'fanboy' argument is not petty you may need to take a step back and look at what you're actually arguing about. But don't get me wrong, obviously your whole 5 years of "forum seniority" means you're a gaming guru. Because, you know, I only started playing video games when I joined this forum, just like everyone else, right?
Time here was to do with God of hardcore previous postings about how bad Sony was, then how it all changed since he bought a ps3 a few years ago. So yes, being here longer is relevant and nothing to do with what you are implying. Also I'm not fanboy anything, I was asking for Actual reasons for his comments, not the fore mentioned recent pro Sony change of attitude. This is an interesting take on it. I see it quite different though, if they unify pc and Xbox one, then people will still buy an xbox console even if it's "just a steam box" type device. Else, people would just buy PCs today instead. But people prefer the ease of a console device. No one who usually buys a console is going to pay for a gaming pc and a steam box streaming device. But a full steam machine style system that's basically windows with a store (not a million miles from what the xbox one is now...) I could see working. All I could see a unification doing is increase the user Base - so console users + all pc users as target for devs if Windows gets to run xbox games (or you buy once and can download a windows version via the store - bit like how 360 games work on xbox one) I'm not sure if that's their plan, but now that it was mentioned it does kinda make sense. Bringing streaming xbox > pc is maybe prepping people to be able to play xbox games on the pc directly.... This current gen is x86/x64 and not far off a pc anyway... But it does seem like they are moving to a buy once and play on different platforms, so there could be something in your thoughts.
Whilst this forum might be the place for Xbox vs PlayStation discussions, this thread isn't. Its purpose was to inform people that a game was canned and a developer faces closure. Whilst that's Microsoft's decision, it doesn't really warrant a debate on which console is best - I'd suggest finding (or creating) a more suitable thread dedicated to such a topic, as it does probably deserve being discussed. This thread, and indeed forum, certainly isn't the place for personal attacks. Yes, there's a history on the forum that may be missed by newer users - not a comment on their knowledge of consoles, but their knowledge of the history of users. Game consoles have always had the advantage of instant booting, no viruses, not being bloated by other crap and primarily the safety of knowing your hardware will always play every game developed for the platform without having to get a better graphics card or CPU. I would hope that would continue. The other thing is that some publishers are console faithful - Fable has always come out on Xbox before PC, for example. So you have the exclusivity (in the same way GTA used to come out on PlayStation before Xbox - but that's an illustration of how things change)! People are free to ignore anyone they want - that's why there's a button. What is petty is announcing it in public. IRL, you wouldn't go around saying "I am ignoring John, you'll probably want to do the same!" to everyone.
You're right, I didn't know enough of the previous postings, then again I wasn't trying to direct the message at you or anyone in particular, either. It was a generalized statement; fanboy arguments are petty. It was poor placement, looking back at it, as there was obviously history to your comment. I saw the 'fanboy' word and flags started going off. I should leave the watchdogging to MBMM
Misunderstandings all round, I think we can work through it Someone notify DeChief! @retro while I didn't take the thread off track first, I apologise for my part in it!
