It's a bible belt thing. America is probably the most conservative country of the west. I agree though, it's totally retarded. The God I know blesses everyone, not just one place.
You seriously believe that a dumb phrase like that, which was added to bills just in the XX century, holds any ground against the fact that saudi arabia uses the quran as a constitution? seriously, they legally use a book like the bible as the constitution, even when it has nothing to do with the actual concept of a constitution. In this case, pakistan even uses the sharia as legal code, thats the equivalent of using the ten commandments instead of say, all the laws we have. You can't even get a copy of the ten commandments on a court-house in america because its illegal, but somehow in your head thats equal to a series of countries using an outdated religious law as their only legal code You sir are an idiot, and I would laugh my ass off if you get gang-raped in a muslim country and instead of the rapist going to jail, you go to jail because you're now considered an homosexual. And be happy if they don't hang you for that too...
Bah! If they are going to be so touchy about freedom of speech in a non-Islamic country, let alone the lawless Internet, then other countries should expect the same level of care when Muslims desecrate and attack other religions. They don't tolerate crap in their country so what makes them think the rest of the world will bend over for them?
In regards to the OP, this is the greatest news I've ever heard about the matter. I hope they blacklist all names from that group.
Because their religion is the best. You hear it anytime someone asks them on TV, and I'm not watching CNN Weazel News. Seriously though, I have yet to hear of a muslim admitting that other religions may be equally good as islam. There are so many crybabys who want others to see islam as the peaceful religion they are believing in, but at the same time there are so many of them who push the hate and the intolerance against other religions. What makes me angry is that so many won't even admit their own religions' mistakes, the mistakes other people make by instrumentalizing their religion. Living in Germany and just having graduated at school, I have pretty fresh experience in political discussions with lots of muslim students. Migration/Integration is a huge subject here because both sides have messed up massively. And it's frustrating as hell to discuss basic matters like why so many women are treated like shit in islamic countries. These days all the palestinian/turkish/lebanon people are quite upset about the behavior of Israel, especially because of the recent brutal attack of a Turkish ship with goods for Gaza. Now I'm getting invitiations from former Turkish school colleagues of mine for antisemetic Facebook groupes. I wonder what they would do if I founded a group to remind on the massacre on the Armenians, conducted by the Turkish army in 1915. The government still refuses to acknowledge this gruesome killing of 1,5 million people as a fact. They say it was a "military incident". In Auschwitz 1,1 million people were killed. What would the world say if the German government still remained calling that a "military incident" after half a century? Some of this bigotry is hard to stand, especially when you have to deal with the young generation who doesn't even know what they do certain things for. But selfcriticism and muslim identity at the same time, now that's a LOL. my2c
The muslims were already near complete annihilation due to their own idiocy centuries ago during the Mongol invasions. But I dont think they're gonna be so lucky next time, when some idiotic muslim militant commits the dumb mistake that starts the chain reaction culminating with 7 million israelis launching over 200 nukes killing most of the world's 1 billion muslims. Where is allah now? seriously, is hard to even believe the BS they say considering what a backwards shithole most muslim countries are, and the worst part? even after migrating to non-muslim countries and seeing in stark contrast the misery they left behind those retards will still defend that piece of crap! If they like it so much WHY DON'T GOT BACK THERE, EH? WHAT'S STOPPING 'EM? Mind that the only people the muslims (and the arabs in particular) ever learned to respect were the Mongols, and that wasnt respect but fear of what the horde could do to them. The islamic tendency to blatant exageration can be traced all the way there, when some arab historians wrote all kind of crazy stories about the mongols, even when some of them confessed to never have seen one in the flesh! (kinda reminds me of the current situation with the israelis) So what history tells us is that the only way to deal with the muslims is by threatening them, or else they threaten you! Its fucking depressing but the situation speaks for itself. Anyways, ave all in all I find the turks to be the most moderated of all muslim nationalities, thats to give you an idea of what to expect when dealing with the rest of them.
In other news Pakistan has blocked nine websites which are Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Google, Islam Exposed, In The Name Of Allah, Amazon and Bing. Source. http://www.paktribune.com/news/index.shtml?228867
I'm actually surprised we're seeing this kind of reaction out of Pakistan and not Iran or Saudi Arabia. Pakistan is actually the most secular of the three (one could argue they're also the most moderate,) although there is a very strong fundamentalist element in the government. Still, they have large populations of non-Muslims (Sheiks, Hindus, etc.) Still, it's their country, so if they want to dumb down their population by censoring the internet, more power to them, ,and really good luck with that. Just like how China tries to firewall off it's country, those who want information will find ways to get it. Unless they go the North Korea route and just totally isolate themselves from the rest of the world...
Most websites are valued on the value of the domain name. If the owner was to sell facebook it'd command million(possibly billions) Hence why Time called Kevin Rose a millionaire despite him never making a million off Digg. Purely off how much he could sell the domain for.
Actually FB started as TheFaceBook.com, the domain facebook was already taken and they couldn't afford it, but later when VC money started to pour in they were able to buy it, albeit at a much higher price since the owner knew how much zuck wanted it. Now, if you took the name and sold something else the price of that domain would plummet, since people go there for the service, not the name. Now, about digg And that was back when that NW article you say was published during digg's heyday, now they are doing much worse, and the CEO left the company.
