FASA studios destroyed by Shadowrun

    I would have thought MS would have saved them really rather than moving everyone in to different fields in the studios. Oh well shadowrun imo was a goodish game but only online since SP is not worth the effort.

    CS was a mod; so popular they boxed it as a stand alone, but it was mod built on an existing game none the less.

    The only other game I can think of like shadowrun was maybe Tribes.
    We all know how well tribes did...

    a mod it maybe on the half life engine but it was still heavily played. mod or not. i dont see why it being a mod makes a difference.

    The outcry was far louder over here in Germany. Don´t forget, most of the latest source books for the pen&paper RPG came from Germany and were later translated into English.
    FanPro (Fatasy Productions) holds the license over here, since the dissolution of Fasa (the pen&paper division, not the Fasa game studios).
    They also got an agreement with WizKids about some of the other games, iirc they are the no1 source for Classic Battletech too.
    Anyway, Shadowrun still is huge over here, far more players than Cyberpunk2020.
