When the Retron5 was delayed I had no idea what I was going to get with my Christmas Amazon giftcards. I decided to get a Madcatz Retrocon controller and a ton of retro compliations. In my Haul I got all 5 Namco Museums for PS1, the PS2 version of Namco 50th anniversary just for Rolling Thunder (I regret getting it now though since my 360 is back in action and Virtual Arcade has EVERYTHING and also it doesn't work with arcade stick apparently) Taito Legends 1 for PS2 and Both Capcom Classics collections. I would say the oldest are my favorites the 5 Namco museums I love Pac Man and Vol 2 with Super Pac Man gets most of my time and love. It's a shame Encore never came out here. I love me some Wonder Momo. How about yours?
Taito Legends 2 on PS2: Darius Gaiden, Elevator Action Returns, G-Darius, Gun Frontier, Metal Black and Space Invaders '95 all on one disc (although the Xbox version does have RayForce).
Taito Legends 2 is too good. Popping that disc in my PS2 and I own an Arcade. The first legends is eeeeeeeeeh with maybe one game I can't think of the name of that I keep going back to. Capcom classics collection is full of goodies too but it lacks some of the obscure games like Battle Circuit a great beat em up nobody ever talks about. I would have like to have seen the more obscure shit on Capcom's collections. Lord knows they had the space.
How is SNES Station on PS2? I have a Master System and NES disc for Dreamcast and I know the PS2 does Genesis really well but I want something for SNES since Lord knows when the Retron 5 will really be ready.
I have an original disk of it. Wait a little bit because i'm gonna video capture it. Here in Brazil they are common these disks, and i already played the Genesis one. It's very smooth.
I like Namco Museum Vol 1 or 3 the best. I feel they did a great job with both the games and presentation.
Vol 3 is the only non original I have of the 5 which is fine since it's the middle disc. What makes the discs so impressive is that they're not emulations but Ports using the original source code. Granted I STILL can't play Galaga the way it was meant to unless I Tate..... Eh, I'll go for 100k on 360 when I get my stick in. My current goal in Galaga is 100k with no deaths.
Here's the scan of the SNES Station (my copy). The video is taking a lot of time to be uploaded... :/
I found a 16-in-1 shooters pack for PS2, which has a not bad selection of games on it: Also Konami Museum DS is just awesome, very nicely presented and loads of cool options.
@lolzvid Nice cover! could this be played on a retail unmodded PS2 system? i'm pretty sure it won't but just curious
You need a modded/unblocked console to run. I use a Matrix Modchip, and it's one of the best. And the DVDs are not blue, like normal pirated games. That's good for my PS2 because the disk reader fails after sometime of using pirated DVDs.
A few of my favorites: Gunvari Collection + Time Crisis (Japan-only, Point Blank series) - PS2 Street Fighter Collection - Saturn Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack - Wii Buster Bros. Collection/Super Pang Collection - PS1 Those are the ones that I can think of at the moment.
If you're asking me, I don't know. I've never played it. Yakumo might be able to answer that question.
How is this one (Taito Memories Joukan) ? I have been very wary of compilations, as they can be very hit or miss with the emulation quality (audio glitches, severe load times, poor frame rate, etc)
