    Hey all,

I've got a Famicom Disk System which I've hooked up to a FC Twin (Famicom clone system) via a Famicom-to-NES adapter. However, when I booted up Zelda for FDS, I immediatelynoticed that one the the audio channels was missing! It's the channel that seems to be responsible for the more advanced FDS audio, so things sound pretty weird without it.

Any clue where the error lies? Does the FC Twin not have the hardware to play this channel of audio or something? Or could there be a problem with how my TV is set up?

    Thanks in advance.

I remember reading the NES-on-a-Chips do have touchy sound emulation.

I'm not familiar with the FC Twin, so this is just a guess, but on a real Famicom the audio is routed to pin 45 of the cartridge connector and the modulator is wired to pin 46. Normally these two pins are just wired together inside the cartridges, but the RAM adapter for the FDS takes the audio on pin 45, mixes in the additional sound channel with it, and then outputs the mixed signal on pin 46.

I assume that the FC Twin is just connecting the internal audio directly, and not bothering to route it through the Famicom slot.

Thanks for the information, all. I'll try some different hardware and see if I have any better luck.
