Few comparison shots between the PSP and PS2, Updated!

Anyways, Added some more to the topic. PSP on the top, PS2 on the bottom (For most of the shots). Also changed the size of the PS2 shots to match the PSP shots

NFSU2 V.S. NFS: Rivals


As you can see, it isn't as graphically impressive. Most of the gloss is gone, and the lighting isn't as impressive, but it still looks pretty damn good.

Spider Man 2 V.S. The PSP version


While the Spiderman 2 model isn't as glossy, it does look quite impressive. High resolution for the most part

THUG2 V.S. the PSP version


Almost exactly the same, besides a few lower resolutions. Looks pretty damn good.

NFL Street V.S. The PSP version



Although the PS2 version has a bad screenshot, they also look the same. Besides a few jaggies...

Ridge Racer PSP V.S. R-Racing Evolution V.S. Ridge Racer DS



Decided to poke some fun on this one and add the DS version (Which was a port of RR64. Anyways, they look pretty similar, although the PSP version has lower resolution streets, while the DS version looks like ass.

Metal Gear Ac!d V.S. Metal Gear Solid: TTS



Used a GCN game for this one. Anyways, the models for Snake and the guards are lower quality and have more jagged edges. However, the lighting does seem to be higher.

Ape Escape PSP V.S. The Playstation version



As you can see, our friends at sony are lazy people. Instead of remaking the first one, they choose to port it instead of remaking it. As you can see, it is pretty much the same. Even more so is the fact that they arn't using the updated models from Ape Escape 2.

Dynasty Warriors PSP V.S. Dynasty Warriors 4

Once again, more ass-looking games. DW PSP looks more like a late gen Playstation game then a early PS2 version. Then again, DW always had sucky graphics, so that isn't anything new.

Tiger Woods PSP V.S. The DS version


Yes, it's unfair, but it's something interesting. The PSP version looks like a mix between Dreamcast and PS2 quality graphics, while the DS version looks like a N64 version. Blech.

Also, if anyone has any screenshots they want compared, post and I will try to compare them.

 

PSP sure has less polygons but I believe the actual textures/art is more important to making a beautiful game...

Looks just the same a the PS2 version to me.

 

I played a lot of RRS today, and it totally blows goats, really uncontrollable even more so with the digital pad controls as it is "simulated analogue" so you press the button for more than 1*0.2389287042348937 of a second and it shunts the car full lock to whatever side you pressed.

But you should compare Ridge Racers (PSP) with Ridge Racer V (PS2).

I like the looks of the PSP, but as assembler already mentioned, if its too expensive, no one will want it. Therefore the sales of the PSP will be low compared to the DS.

I'd just wait till the PSP gets cheap and then get it. IMO the DS isn't the perfect mobile gaming device, its not "handy" enough

 

I dare say they eventually will, sort of what happened between the Xbox and PS2 when they started to lower their prices (That, or stop this Value Pack crap and sell it for 200). If I can sell my modded PS2, then I would have enough for most of the PSP without problems.
