the famous image of ff4 on NES: don't get too exited, its a mock-up , sadly. but the project was really in work , it was suposed to be the last ff for the 8-bit era. Two ff project where in developement at this time, ff4 on nes and ff5 on snes. ff4 was kicked and ff5 was renamed ff4. seiken on FDS: the game was in developement , and you could even reserve your copy of it! the game was canceled, and square posted this message to everyone who reserved the game: it reads like this: there's a picture of the game somewhere on the web, don't know if its a fake or a mock-up. secret of mana was suposed to be on snes cd , to continu the vibe. :-D and the best for the end, ff7 on snes: mock up.
I wonder if Square ever considered Sega? I remember from an interview with some Square guy that they considered "PS, Saturn and N64" for FF7 and decided "PS was fit most for FF7" or something like that. Also, that letter from "JJ" looks like utter bullshit, a Frankensteined bastardization of Shaggames, the Game.com and a medieval outhouse with a hernia could write a more believable thing than that :smt042
Development definately started on Final Fantasy 4 FC and Seiken Densetsu. Apparently both were near completion. It's officially told that FF4 was cancelled so it wouldn't interfere with the sale of Final Fantasy V (FF4) for the spanking new SFC. Not sure why Seiken was canned.
Because the First SD game was released for gameboy i think, so it wasn't cancelled, it was simply moved...
You can't just port a NES game to a GB game though. It really should have been released... I'd enjoyit far more in color on a TV, also it would be like the FDS's grand finale.
indeed, you can't just port a nes game on gb without changing it, even the game boy color wasn't able to run a good port of a NES game ( super mario bros anyone? ) . the sad thing is... that someone have the prototype of it, but just don't whant to share. :smt009
