Reminds me of Kingdom of Loathing. Anyone play that?

    Sabertoothed Lime!

Even, say, 2-4 hours a day (added up to a weekly total, so you can still have fun and not be forced to play every day) would be a good cap.

It's a good thing I've always failed to get hooked on any MMO, even with local friends and acquaintances that play any given one routinely.

Oh the games not that bad i enjoy i relly and its not as bad as it sounds. The hole reson behind it its to make everoen advance at the same pace an try to make the game less time consuming. Encurage people to try out other job classes, even go help out other, get better gear, or even advance in mission not just lvl grinding. No more people leaching xp getting max lvl asap and still being noobs with crapy skills not knowing what there doing and hopefully get the better gear they need. Just becouse your limited on xp don't meen you still cant do other stuff that you probaly should do anyway then just lvl grind non stop anyway.

Guess you don't want Google getting any hits off your post.

Just to point out the obvious but what if more than one person in any given household is playing the same game... Let's say both parents and their kids. Does this mean those who get on first get to have all the fun while those who play later don't?

A good idea on paper - but surely the end user should be able to make the final choice?

    I remain unconvinced.

i believe the time limit is per class. so if someone else wants to play the full 8 hours they just switch classes. i might be wrong though.

You haven't really thought that through - it'll be limited by account or character, not by IP. If it was IP-based it'd be easy to circumvent for a lot of people since many/most ISPs provide dynamic IPs.

From where I'm sitting this move seems pretty cheeky, if it is account-based; it means that players who want to play for longer productively will have to shell out on two or more accounts.

This seems like a good rule, but I'd have gone with 12hrs.

I don't know how people can play the same thing for 40-50hrs/week anyway, I get bored. I'd rather bounce around between games.
