The Final Fantasy 7 PS4 (PC Version) was released on PSN some days ago.
Well its not the real remake only the PC-Version for PS4. But i start playing it again.
It also include a free theme of FF7. I like both and the resolution for PS4 is not bad.

    http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015...emake-details-original-launches-today-on-ps4/

When i look on the first ingame scenes of the comming remake, i first was thinking "O no, not that battle action style for ff7!"
Now news come out they want to split the game in parts like "Live is strange"..
So we will get a cuted, Action battle styled rework without Sakaguchi as director or Uemasto sound...

What did you think about the coming remake?

Loved the graphics...they looked bloody amazing. The way the sword shined looked very realistic. I just wished the characters themselves looked more like their portraits in FF7 on the PSX. Barret needs to pack on some more pounds!

I feel like I'm the only one who wasn't pleased with the exclusion of turn based combat. Lot's of people are saying it's an ancient and outdated system but I just point said people to Lost Odyssey on the 360. I'm not gonna knock it till I try it but that did kill my hype a little. The episode format has me hesitant as well.

With that said, I also downloaded FF7 on the PS4 yesterday and I'm enjoying the new additions like 3x toggle speed and trophy support.

That has me interested. They included that in the Steam version of VIII and that makes the game considerably less grind-y.

I hadn't heard that they wanted to split it up. Personally, I think the game is going to be extremely polarizing. FF VII is probably my least favorite out of the ones I've played, so the remake is a "meh" for me. Now, if it was a full-blown remake of VI, VIII or IX...

The first comment there may be helpful for details.

People are still finding something to complain about. "they changed the combat nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

I think the multi parts will be akin to X and X-2 XIII and XIII-2 XIII-Cloud in drag returns.

A remake for VIII would be my childhood fantasy! There's so much they could do with it to refine the gameplay (Like skipping those damn GF cutscenes).

That makes two of us. Calling it outdated is asinine to me. It's different. It makes for a different type of game. But, to say turn based combat in an rpg is outdated ignores the fact that there were action rpgs in the JRPG heyday, some of which were made by the same companies that made the turn based games. It's just a different system.

Can you clarify that last post? I really have no idea what message you are trying to convey.

One thing I am tired of reading
    FF1 turn based
    FF2 turn based
    FF3 turn based
FF4-9 is correctly active time battle not exactly turn based

You are absolutely correct. I was using turn based as a general term for the "pick your move from a menu when the game allows you to do so and then watch as it is executed" battle mechanic as most seem to be doing.

It was not you I was saying this to.
A lot of sites have this and almost all that complain about the battle system state it wrong.

I would be very happy if they decided to do that, but they know where the money is. VIII is pretty low on their remake list and its addition to Steam certainly hasn't helped that cause. We're far more likely to see VI or IX, both of which would excite me almost just as much.

Upon looking at SE's rationale, it actually is pretty sound. I understand what they're trying to do. I was pretty concerned at first.

I'm hoping for a full on VI remake down the line.

As much as i would love it, i think it would be too massive to do for Square-Enix since they have zero assets for it...

Honestly, if this works out well for them (which it will because FFVII Remake is going to sell 238572903 copies) then I think VI will be the next on the list to get the treatment. Then again, FFXV hasn't even been released yet. We have some time to wait.

To be honest I would play 6 and 9 with FF-0 style like crazy
and VII looks to be in that order.
Yes I like all FF but something new is in order for all remakes
and VII looks to move to the FF-0 style or maybe something like XII :)
