does anyone have infos about it? the only interesting things i have found are: the oldest pictures here http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/fftss.html like this one: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/fft_scr3.gif that aren't in the final game. and by the way, years ago i've heard that FFT was planned to be released for snes.. any truth in that?
Patience - someone is bound to come along . I'd help you out, but I don't own Tactics. I'm not much of a Final Fantasy person.
one of the 2 is the other and the others on the site aren't, and sprites and 3 d model are differents. 3d model looks more "angular"
since i'm desperate for this game i'll bump thi topic yet again, posting links to more pics of the beta http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/fft2.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/fft3.jpg (someone can translate this for me? this scene is not in the game!) http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics2.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics5.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics6.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics7.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics8.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics9.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics10.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics11.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/fft/screens/tactics12.jpg i'm more than willingly to PAy for such a beta, i could get crazy for that... so if people have any info or other pictures of the beta from any magazine please post!
It looks the same as the retail to me and I have completed it twice. The top picture at the top of this post is from the back of the box. I don't recall seeing the Japanese chocobo scene though...Maybe it's part of a sidequest. I have not completed it with the guidebook so I will have blatantly missed stuff out.
I have it, but its been SUCH a long time since I beat it. They were working on a game for the SNES under the name Final Fantasy Tactics, but it was soon changed to Bahamut Lagoon. It was never released in the US. I've played a little of it through emulation. Bahamut Lagoon is completely overhead, though.
i've dedicated to it more time than any other thing. 1000+ hours.... and those picture are all weird, trust, me. i've done ALL that is in the game, and in all of those pics there's something weird. (if someone is interested i can discuss that too). and the pic behind the game case shows a scene that is NOT in the game.... as the scene with delita on chocobo with snow around... trust me i know what i say...
You may have spent 1000 plus hours with the game, but did you ever play as the Lucavi monsters? I did. I used a Gameshark. Oh, and BTW, I also played some levels that were in the game, but never made it into the the story using the Gameshark, too.
OBVIOUSLY done that too... i said i'km crazy for that... i tried almost all the plece and setup in the debug mode... and i can surely tell that those things aren't in the final version, trust me.
I also heard somewhere that FFT was Tactics Ogre in its beginning stages, and the name got changed, too. I didnt get this info from a very reliable source, however.
Well, it might have been possible for them to have done that I don't want to radify a rumour but it might have began at least coding wise as a Tactics Orge game due to the merger.
from what i've gathered, it was developed by some fugitives programmer from the software house made tactics ogre... i did found the names of those programmers, by i haven't it with me anymore... i just rember that some of them worked on vagrant story after FFT... (VS contains lots of cameos from FFT...)
I'm bumping this just in casesomeone had the cahnce to know something new or find some other pics of the beta version from some magazine....
OMG, I didn't know that! Such a surprise for me! On a closer look, Bahamut Lagoon is a lot like a FF game.... Anyway, BL is does not really seem closely related to FFT, although BL could easily be a FFT Zero. Amazing contribution, thanks Mr. Casual.
I got this from MobyGames. This is a list of people who worked in both BL and FFT. Looks interesting. Bahamut Lagoon: Main Programmer Kazuhisa Murakami, Hiroshi Ono Effect Programmer Tetsuji Iwasaki Field Graphic Designer Rena Sasaki, Takahiro Yamashita Sound Programmer Hidenori Suzuki Supervisor Hironobu Sakaguchi ---------------------- Final Fantasy Tactics: Additional Program Kazuhisa Murakami Visual Effect Program Hiroshi Ono Event Program Tetsuji Iwasaki Battle Map Creators Rena Sasaki, Takahiro Yamashita Sound Programmer Hidenori Suzuki Produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi http://www.mobygames.com/game/snes/bahamut-lagoon/credits http://www.mobygames.com/game/playstation/final-fantasy-tactics/credits
without blowing my horn, I've still got a copy of the beta (sept 30, 1997) as I authored the guide, however the images that you've pointed out I believe to be fabrications from something previous to my beta. the beta does allow to view a top down version of the map (utterly useless) as well as a host of other options that I believe most of have have been hacked via gameshark codes.
