GCN RE 1 I'll agree. But you must be joking with the other 2 especially RE2 which is pretty inferior to its PC DC counterparts.

DOA U doesn't look "marignally" better than the DC. It looks almost generation ahead in visuals. It even uses a completely different graphics engine to boot.

Why do you say the GC is pretty inferior, I haven't noticed anything drastic, what exactly are you refering to here? I still think the DC version is the best, the PC RE2 I played on my Voodoo2 and it looks nice with glide but don't think it beats the DC

 

Because it is. GCN version of RE2 doesn't support progressive scan 640x480p. Absolutely none of the upgraded features found on the DC/PC versions are present. This includes the improved character models and the upscaled CG cutscenes. RE2 on the GCN is essentially a near direct port of the Ps1 version of the game. It's a lazy ass port which is unacceptable considering it was released years after the PC/DC release. I'm certain Capcom knew they fucked up considering they put a little more effort onto the GCN version of RE3 to improve it.

And I never said the PC port is superior to the DC version. I also consider the DC port to be the best thanks to the VMU features.

My only hope is that they don't remove any gameplay modes.

I can live with 720p only, no PC/WiiU/PS4 versions, no Link.


Why they wouldn't do a Wii U version is BAFFLING.

Perfect opportunity for Link and it would probably sell well as a result.

The Gamecube version definitely looks much nicer than PSX and N64 versions- I'm certain the resolution including the character models are higher as well. Dreamcast version support progressive scan through VGA only right?
I should really compare the two using a component on GC and VGA on DC to see the difference.

It sucks that the extra features present on DC didn't make it on GC, but it was released on a single disc compared to two CD-ROM and GD-ROM for PC and DC.

Having the health on the VMU is definitely great
