Note sure exactly what the first was. I remember playing plenty of games before I owned any. A couple of friends had C16 / C64s, I remember playing Commando, and quiz based games like Trivial Pursuit. I also remember playing SMB and SMB3 on NES, as well as Rad Racer, Mario Is Missing, Puzzle Bobble, and some Spectrum games like Paper Boy. I didn't own anything until the SNES, which arrived on Christmas day with Mario Allstars and Aladdin. Super Mario Bros 3 still remains one of my all-time favourites.
I can't remember the first game that I ever played, but I can remember the first game that I ever wanted to play. It was the arcade game, Popeye. I remember looking at it at my 4th birthday party, and I wanted to play it, but my mom wouldn't give me a quarter to play, so I just watched the demo play itself. To this day, whenever I see Popeye, it takes me back to my youth and to my introduction to video games, to a much simpler time in my life.
turtles or indiana jones on the amstrad 6128 cpc (something like that) but then i put money in the floppy drive and broke it, oops still got the game in the loft
Hey there, Well, I think my first games were Mario Bros and Mortal kombat. Many years have passed and I have played many others but still I love the charm of these games. ___________ cool sniper games ever!
No idea actually, more likely it was either an arcade game or a Game Boy game. I do know that my first system was a Pocket with Pokemon Red, which I still have to this day. I do remember playing NES, SNES, GB games, but they were either the property of family or friends. Earliest game I can remember is Rampage, and Street Fighter II, though I did manage to play most of the Marvel vs. Capcom variants before 2. Did I get such a scolding for wasting a few dollars on coin-ops....
Either an old hanimex pong console or Sonic 2 are the first games I remember playing when I was like 3 or something
Bubble Bobble (Commodore 64) / River Raid (Atari 2600) / Sonic 2 (or 3) on Mega Drive in the mid 1990s. Good times! Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System) is another one too! Press Your Luck (Commodore 64) comes to mind as well...! Oh boy, more memories... Crystal Caves (PC) or Rebel Assault (PC) - a demo of Sam & Max Hit the Road was on that disc...! And one that scared the beejezus out of me... The Terminator 2029 (PC)... I had no idea what Terminator was back then... Young and innocent with a dual speed CD-ROM drive. Wooo! :encouragement:
The pack-in Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt that came with my NES when I was ~3-4. (Around late '88, early '89)
I'm going very old school on ya, but Night Driver was the first arcade game I ever played. Late 70's, on a trip to Victoria Canada, on a 3 hour boat trip. It was a stand up driving game, with wheel & pedal and I was around 8 years old. What I didn't know then, was that was the start of an obsession that has lasted all my life since...
The very first was probably the original Prince of Persia in a friend's computer. The first video game I had (and played) of my own though came with my first console: Super Mario World.
My first game was Bump n Jump, my mom rented it for us when she bought us our first NES. Amazingly enough we all loved it, somehow some of the worst games didn't seem so bad back in the day lol.
