That site is just full of too many idiots for my liking. Serious discussion there is at max a page or two then spam, spam, spam. BTW, what else am I looking like, Cahaz?
Now kids... both of you put your heads down on your desks. There used to be this really cool gameshop near here that had like everything. And since I was the only guy who bought anything older than PS1 games they sometimes gave me crap for free. Scored dozens of SMS and old Atari carts off them this way, plus they bought all my old Videogame magazines off me too. Sadly they are gone now, and the only vintage gameshop left is run by this guy who overcharges for everything. Sad, sad, sad.
I usually go into flea markets expecting to NOT find anything spectacular, and it usually comes out okay like this, since even if I don't find anything great I can usually pick up a decent Genesis or PS1/2/Xbox game for cheap. That being said, I have made some pretty good finds, such as the Namco PS1 joystick (the one they released around the time of Tekken 2) for $15, and this usually ebays for around $50. Also a mint original release copy of Symphony of the Night from that brief period where even the greatest hits was going for $60 on ebay for $10. Everybody overcharges for NES and SNES stuff (like $5 minimum for anything. One guy was trying to get like $20 for a beat up Mario 3 loose cart). Atari prices tend to be all over the place and for the most part anyone only has 2600 games. Sega stuff tends to be fair or even undervalued around here actually, though it's rare to see anything other than Genesis and Dreamcast You can basically forget about NEC, Coleco, Intellivision, SNK and 3DO games or hardware. The shops around here are completely useless for anything older than Playstation, really. You've no chance of getting a complete Genesis game from them and they don't have that great a selection anyway. Absolutely nothing for systems like Turbografx, Saturn, et al, and I'd doubt they would take it even if someone tried to give it to them, even Rhino and Game Force which are only regional chains. I think Game Force is just a front for pirates anyway.
Other than that time I got a complete Intellivision with 12 fully boxed games with manuals and Overlays for 80 pesos (7 dollars and about 40 cents), there hasn't been a superb find in a while. It used to be Famiclone paradise, but now everyone overcharges as well in the regular "shops", but the guys on the sidewalk are always dirt cheap. This guy had a whole fuckload of 2600 carts, 3 of them for 25 pesos (2.20 dollars). There's also 5 pesos for a 5200 cart (45 dollar cents), and once I got a dreamcast VMU for 3 dollars.
Now that you've shown pictures of your house, do you mind if I drop by and... um... touch the M2? Only kidding...
i got a dreamcast with 2 original controllers, skies of arcadia, grandia 2, toy commander, dead or alive 2, tony hawks pro skater 2, a VMU and the hook-ups for 15 bucks. they warned me that ''the console froze at the start though'', but i figured out the problem before i bought the system, the controller port resistance had burned. I asked some help on these forums to know what was the voltage of it, if i remember right, because i couldn't see it on the piece. it costed me 15.10 dollards for a fully working dc with all the stuff mentionned earlier. And there was this sonic adventure game at another table, he didn't know what it really was, he thought it was a music cd, and he asked 3 bucks for it, the cd looked okay, but i only had 2 bucks left, so he let it go, kind old man.
Wow. The most I ever payed for a VMU was $10, and it included a sealed copy of Timestalkers (laugh it up ). I can send some off if you need any.
i remember that very ebgames i spoke of earlier had several intv games completly boxed for .99 cents, alot of the stuff was boxed, and i dont think anyone knew what it all was..they even had some atari lynx and jaguar games....sadly....they no longer carry such gems like that stuff...its all loose un boxed snes/genisi/nes stuff.....
