Has anyone been able to find replacements for fm towns lasers? I've been searching for a while but have come up empty handed. I wouldn't mind pulling a used one from something else if anybody knows of anything that uses the same laser.

Probably the best thing is to take some hi-res photos and post them. It's almost certainly going to be similar to something.

Sure, I'll take it apart tomorrow morning and take a pic of the laser.

Well, after saying that I don't recognise that at all - it's a bit like some of the very old NEC CD-ROM drives, But I dont think I've ever seen one exactly like that...

It seems to be a unique laser because I have been unable to find anything even remotely similar.

I have looked into that before and it seems a lost cause:(

Maybe someone will be able to make a Optical drive emulator one day, I dare hope so.
