    Hey Everyone and Anyone :p
    Looking for some advice on this one,
    I have a model 2 Sega Saturn, Model: MK-80000A (if that helps) and I want it to pretty much be region free. I play it on a NTSC TV. I'd like to play some Import games that are PAL format.
    What chips/Kits would I need/should I get? I'd like it to be switchless and as automatic as possible.
    Thanks everyone!!
    ~John

    Region free bios + 50/60 switchless kit

    Or you can go 50/60 switchless with region.

    But you will have issues with 50hz NTSC - so ideally you want to be using RGB.... thats even assuming your TV will take 50hz at all.

    Hmmm, I'm gonna be adding S-Video to the unit, not sure if that will work like the RGB. But it's a gamble I'll take ^-^ how can I tell if my Saturn is a VA0 (Dip) or if I need the SMD version of the bios?

    s-video color is still encoded AFAIK. Most CRTs in the US don't accept either NTSC 50, PAL 50, or PAL 60. Let alone RGB.

    If the set has manual vertical hold adjusting for 50hz might work. I've never seen that attempted with how rare PAL devices are here.

    Look at the back where the power connector is. Is there 2 screws or 3?

    2 = smd
    3 = dip

    Put me down for a region free bios for a sega cd 2. I want the japanese version of the bios flashed. BTw can I just desolder the original bios then solder a socket in so I can plug the new bios in or will more have to be done?

    Its a direct replacement. Technically a socket will work, but you will need to check the clearance is enough to allow the console to go back together.

    Also, it says to PM me your order - so you should do that :)

    I can do you a chip, but I cant test it. Its easy enough to program the chip and verify its programmed properly - but it would be untested.

    Added 27C128/256/512 Eproms as it turns out I have boxes full of them. Programmed with what ever you want - handy for nes repros, SMS, colecovision bios and loads of other stuff.
