Anyways, we visited our local thrift store today and found 2 XBOX S black controllers with the green jewel in the center without the breakaway cables(Japanese version). There was also the system(no hookups) which I knew was Japanese because of the factory sticker in the center(not on the USA one). I basically paid close to nothing for these. You do not see these on ebay so frequently at least in the states. Is the Japanese XBOX pretty rare and sought after?
The issue is that no one wants them or cares unless it is a special edition. There are plenty on YAJ for pennies, and no one is rushing out to buy one.
Exactly, they are not rare, collectable or anything. You can grab one boxed for close to nothing alone with a bunch of games.
Thanks guys! I knew the XBOX bombed in Japan but I did not know that so many are out there. I only paid $2.99 for it so it is not too much of a loss.
Well for everything it came out to a little less than $10. In the end it was about the price of a teriyaki meal so I am not too upset about it. Forza Motorsport was in it and apparently the disc is the NTSC version. Can the Japanese XBOX play American games as well?
Or it could be modded, check the bottom to see if the screws are showing. If so, I wouldn't be surprised if it's been modded.
I checked and it definitely is not modded. There are no screws showing and it has the rubber pads completely intact.
