The disc findings continue this morning. Anyone know anything of the above titles? Also found a disc with "CoD Latest" crudely written on it. Has lots of files (IRX, RWS, DFS, Disc Image files), takes up 410MB of space.

Images/more info on the discs can be provided if desired.

Sounds like a bunch of pirated software burned on discs to me.

I am really not sure that these are pirated disks, as there was NR disks in the same lot from Climax, as long as the oblivion builds.

Great, thanks for that info. Not worth too much as collectibles then?

Yeah, Kenny's right - it's part of the same lot as the Obl disks/NR readers/Dev stuff/Betas. We just overlooked them entirely.

Depends of course on the contents. Beta versions may be, source code even more so. On their own, probably not that much. Net Fighter was relatively unknown, so it may be worth something to someone, but Lightwave was very common.

Found out anything about the CoD disc?

Ah I see, alright thanks for that. Not really too sure what I'm looking for; there's certainly data on there, but this isn't my field. I'll more than likely send a copy to someone to test it out/see what it is. But I'm guessing it's an early build of CoD on the PS2. Also there are quite a few Net Fighter discs, some with 'Mafia 01 - 04' and other similar things written on. The two connected?

I used to have Lightwave in High School (early 2000's) and it was a great 3D modeling program and pretty easy to use. At the time I put it above 3DS Max. It started to fall out of use at that time in favor of Maya. Definitely seems more popular in film than gaming. They still make new versions to this day and feature films will still use it, but the list of films using it gets shorter every year. Some noteworthy films that used Lightwave were The Fifth Element(for a back in the day example) and the Hunger Games(for a more recent example)

    https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/List_of_films_that_used_LightWave_3D

That list seems to cut off at 2013 but I'd be surprised if there weren't any feature films using it for something in the last 3 years.

Lightwave started out as the software part of the NewTec Amiga Video Toaster, and was used on the Babylon 5 TV series :)

To be fair, there was a lot of pirated software at Climax based on even the small amount that I received hah

The lot that I have receive wheren't pirate ones (Mostly NR disks). But I have been able to get pictures of the lot and most disks looked like pirate games. But as development studios backup method where different in the early 2000, the fact that many games were stored on non branded CD doesn't mean that they where pirates one. Especially when there is assets backup.

That's not what Borman is talking about.

I may have missunderstood. Then can you explain me instead of just saying that Borman says wasn't what I understood ?

Lightwave on a CDR/DVDR is either a backup or a pirate copy.

To be fair, I worked in IT for a long time - we had loads of CDRs, but all the license keys were legit. So, unless there is a crack on the CDR/DVDR - assuming its a pirate copy is a stretch.

I get it know, thanks Bad_Ad84. Borman was talking about development sortware.

Sometimes, a licence can be used on more than one computer (depending on the licence) but you only get one disk. We have this problem on some of our programming tools. So we do CD backup when CD-Rom as to be used (or use ISO virtual drives).

No, I'm talking about the fact that one set of backups was specifically pirated software with cracks. Even Battlefield 1942 hah.

Sorry if this is a little off topic, did Climax auction off or liquidate some of their stuff?
