So I was out today and found a (complete?) NGage QD standup that they have in stores. Its got three large panel's with the NGAGE logo and various "how to" stuff for it. The base has gotta be around 100lbs and its mostly aluminium. Unfortunatley there werent any NGAGE's inside the holders..But the wiring looks to be all intact. Ill see if I can get any other pictures but does anyone have any info on this thing and why it could possibly be just "tossed out"?
So basically this thing is garbage eh? Im trying to borrow a camera to get some pictures but its a bit difficult at 6:20AM
I dont consider it garbage But most places do, since they didnt exactly sell well. And ah, youre on the east coast Nice
It's a possibilty that the technology will live on as a widespread "added feature" in upcoming Nokia phones. Perhaps that's the way it should have been handled all along, but I for one saw some potential with the Ngage's all-in-one design which unfortunately didn't catch on.
I have a Ngage stand but it isn't a QD it is the orginal. The thing is huge and it stand guard over my kids bedroom (no room in the house) but i also have ever sample game released the first year for the Ngage. AT one point i had the taco phone demo which had unlimited phone time which i sold for a nice penny.
q sepp does it looks like a Surf board almost? Im having a damn hard time getting ahold of a friend with a digital camera..
To be honest, is was an abortion in what industrial design means Why would you use a vertical screen on a horizontal device? why they didnt make it flip-top? Thats the problem with the Ngage, that and the price, way too high They could sell it at 80$ from the beggining, after all it pays itself with the phone service and the game. It could destroy the GBA, but no, they needed to sell it at 300$
I want one of those. The last time I went to my local EB they had thier stand with the 2 QD's but it was unplugged maybe they will throw away soon, I'm about to ask them.
Not with those games it couldn't . Nokia was stupid to think they stood a chance against Nintendo when it comes to portable systems.
YEah it does look like a surf board and a damn heavy ass one too. I have pictures of it i just don't have anywhere to post it. them on..or i could just be lazy either one.
Dude, look at the iPod, what does that thing has against creative or archos? nothing, yet is has more than 70% of the market share. Consumer electronics are 110% hype, and a cellphone/console could sell millon times more than a normal console due to low unit prices (if you purchase the thing with a plan) I know, but they could use a bigger screen that is only fully operational with games
The "problem" is that the Ngage never became a status symbol/fad like the iPod did. If that would've happened, it wouldn't have mattered how crappy the games were.
Dude, you cant say the iPod is a complete piece-o-crap, its has its funcionality, and does what it promises, nothing more, nothing less. The ngage at the other hand was a bad phone, and had a even worse price/gameplay ratio if you compare it to the one GBA, NDS and PSP have. Honestly, it seems like they didnt talk to any gamers when designing that thing
