Yep, you should just use Hdmi direct mode. This will give a pure unaltered image. Actually, if you've seen my Battle of the Ports videos they all use the Hdmi pass through with perfect results.

What resolution is your device running at? Maybe have your Framemeister set to the same resolution via the Hdmi out option.
