    I never had a problem with OO in my whole life. Anyway if you need just a spreedsheat program many guys mentions already Gnumeric or KSpread which is the way to go. Personally I prefer the former, is fast and don't need much resources (I usually use it on a pentium 4 with 256 ram...).

    OpenOffice ^^ , or GoogleDocs, or buy a student/express version of Excel.
