It kinda reminds me of the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The PS2 is certainly not my favorite console design wise - it doesn't hold a candle to the Wondermega, or even the Japanese Saturn in my opinion (I actually like the gray color scheme). But I have to admit, in vertical mode with the blue stand, it looks pretty good. Like a computer from the future.
The Saturn (both US and JPN) are pretty atrocious. The PS2 looks better and is more practical (you can stack stuff on it).
No way, All Sony consoles look shit IMO. well maybe the PSOne as it's known is cool due to it's size but all the others? Original PlayStation is just a box with a circle, the PlayStation 2 is again just a box with ugly vents and the PlayStation 3 is an eye sore in every possible way. I also think the original XBOX was way oversized and as ugly as sin. The 360 on the other hand (original, not the slim) is quite an attractive beast, especially in black. Yakumo
Aesthetically speaking, what do you guys think of the stock white dreamcast shell compared to the other consoles you are all bashing? I think it looks pretty trim and neat. It's compact, symmetrical, has some curves to it, aesthetically I think it's very pleasing
No way, man. The Saturn is a beautiful machine. The PS2, like Yakumo said, is a box. The Saturn has all sorts of curving lines and different colored buttons and such. Kinda like the N64, although I wish the N64 was smaller (the board only takes up a small part of the case). Sega and Nintendo have always beaten Sony in terms of design, IMO. The one exception being the US version of the original SNES. That is one ugly console, especially compared to the Super Famicom.
XBOX 360 is actually quite attractive in black, I think so as well. Saturn looks amazing especially the model one with the blue buttons, the white model 2 is just as beautiful.
