[FS] PS3 20 GB Used

Not mine, it had to be switched on to the HDMI option. Otherwise it remained completely blank until you used a different video source. May have been early models only.

 

Since webjeff is in the US I was speaking of US NTSC models.

The US originally had:
20GB - Hardware BC
60GB - Hardware BC

These were replaced with:
40GB - No BC
80GB - Software BC

Europe launched with the 60GB (Software BC) and then added the 40GB (No BC). As far as I recall there was never an official release of a PAL 20GB unit.

Are you sure those aren't NTSC 20GB units that you're seeing for sale?

We've kind of hi-jacked this thread, but it might be that the local stores to me have indeed imported 20Gb units. I've been seeing piles of them in most independents and thought that they were PAL units. I'll definately take a better look. Can't understand why they'd import them though unless purely on the basis of them having BC?

20gb/60gb models might become rare in future considering these are the only one with emotion engine in them.

you're missing the point, try getting the big picture ~

in a couple of years... 60+ millions ps3's worldwide(40/80 gig models), 3 millions of 20/60gb versions(both already discountinued).

There may never be a real shortage of the old models, but the public perception (and thats what counts) will always be "I don't want a new stripped down PS3, I want one of the older models that plays everything".

...Given the choice everyone goes for the better option. :nod:
