FS: Test PS2 & NPDP Cube

While I was going through some of the stuff I have stored at my parents house today, I came across the Test PS2 and NPDP Game Cube I bought from ASSEMbler last August...both still sitting in the box that he sent them in, untouched. I realized that I bought these with plans to actually DO something with them, yet there they've both sat for about 10 months.

I'm sure that there's someone here who would provide them with a better home. I'll try to include the details that I think might be important. If anyone has any other questions, I brought both of them over to my place this afternoon, so they're sitting in front of me and I can try to find out whatever you need.

The PS2 is a PAL model DTL-H30002 U. Both items only include what I originally bought, which is just the systems (no controllers or cables of any sort).

Finally, I'm not looking to make a profit by selling these, but I am hoping to make back what I spent on them. I paid $960 for both; I think the deal was $295 for the PS2 and $665 for the Cube when I bought them, which is what I'm asking for them.

If anyone is interested in either or both of these, please send me a PM.

do you know if the PS2 TEST works fine with the network adaptor?

To give you an idea of how little I know about this, I've never actually even plugged it in- I just took it out of the box it was shipped to me in yesterday. I'm willing to find out, though

Is there someplace I could look or something I should do to find out?

    ah I see :)

actually I own a DTL-H30002U, too. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the network adaptor. Some other people have similar problems. I don't need it for online gaming, but I'd like to install the official Linux Kit on a TEST. Therefore it's very important for me that the network adaptor and hard disk is recognized by the unit.

I could buy a standard PS2 instead, but I have so much other stuff here laying around and I'm running out of space :(

I see. I'm assuming without actually having a hard drive or network adapter, I can't really find out if it would work, right? If that's the case, sorry about that.

I totally understand you on the space issue - my parents are begging me to clear out the video game crap I have stored over at their place so they can try to sell the house. I keep trying to convince them that it'll only add to the value of their house, but they're not buying it. All I know is that I don't have ANY room for it where I live.

yes, you're right. So I'm sorry I cannot buy it. It would be too risky for me. Otherwise if you can't find a buyer, let me know. Probably I would take it for a cheaper price.

No problem :icon_bigg I'm not desperate to get rid of either of these things, so if they don't sell I won't be too upset. I just figured that since I really haven't had time to do anything with them, I'm sure there's someone else here who would actually have some use for them. And after reading about ASSEMbler's recent run-in with eBay, if I'm going to get rid of them, I'd MUCH rather sell them to someone here then risk putting them up there.

As far as lowering the price, I'd like to lose as little money on this as possible, but I'm not going to be too hurt if they sell for less than I originally asked for. If I might ask, what do you think might be a better price that I could sell either of these for?

I may be interested in the Debug Ps2, it's not sure,

but first of all , two things:

    ->110V or 220V??
-> try at least once to boot that console , and tell us if it works (that would take you five minutes, plug, power, insert media, wait fo playstation 2 logo and switch off)

    thank you
Edit: one more thing, Is there anything else sold with the ps2? (docs maybe(^^) or the original box)... you only talked about cables or controler ^^

This is a PAL unit made for debugging in a NTSC region.

If you make a game, you're not going to open a UK branch
    just to debug it.

It is 120v, some of them were modded by sony to do 120-220
you have to check the back sticker. These were all modified by
sony to some strange specs for acclaim.

You might have to switch it out of rgb mode.
They boot up pal if no disc is inside , however any ntsc disc it boots off of
will be ntsc. Likewise any pal game with palfix.
It also plays psone any region.

It can use thenetwork adapter for testing, these had network versions of
juice in them. It could very well be in the drive.

    err...

can you explain me this (i didn't understand!)

"network version of juice inside them"??

    you mean the "juice" game?

ps: some people have problems with normal network adaptator on these consoles (test h30002 U) so i'm asking ^^
i just wanted also knowing if the console were working (the lens may be out of use , or anything)

    i prefer to check ^^

there is something more you might be able to tell about the TEST ps2 ...^^
does THIS model have 8 or 10 screw??? (to know if it is the equivalent f v3 or v4... for test ps2 it may indicate a 100%compatibility with the HDD if it's a V4. )

It's hard to tell, because the price variates on Ebay between 200 and 300 USD.

I think your actual price is very good, if you can confirm that the unit works with the network adaptor.

That's if Ebay don't pull it off. They have been VERY hot on PS2 development stuff recently - Ask ASSEMbler!

Okay, sorry about the delay in answering questions. I had to dig through a lot of crap in a closet to find my normal PS2 so that I could borrow the power and AV cords and give the TEST PS2 a...test.

The first screen (Browser, system configuration) was jumpy, but I'm assuming this is because it's PAL and I'm hooking it up to an NTSC TV. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

Once you load a game, it looks fine, and it does play games without a problem.

As far as what else is included, I don't have anything for it other than the unit itself. No docs, nothing.

And finally, the screw question (whether there were 8 or 10 screws): I realize I'm an idiot, but I'm looking around on this thing and not seeing any screws. Where should I be looking?

Underneath the console there will be little square rubber plugs, that cover the case screws.

Some cases have 8, some 10.

Ahh, thank you. Seems so obvious now that you point it out :)

So this PS2 has 10 screws, for whatever that's worth.
