    ok so there may be problems with HDD (test are first series V3 and the first v3 (on the release, the other v3 are fine) needed a bios update to make the hdd work.)

    the only way to know is testing...

    anyway, what do you mean by "jumpy"

    you may have an image in black and white, but, as far as i know, most tv now support both ntsc and pal. maybe the cable was incompatible (or you needed to configure RVB/YbCr..) but that is not the problem anyway :)

    oh yes i have an idea (it's just an idea)

    can you give us the navigator version??? (on the ps2 main menu you can see version information)

    it may help us to know about the HDD
