Split bump so I have more control. Video has been posted of one of the race modes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGRvsb8y848 Hoping to do a more comprehensive video soon. Sadly, there are some fatal errors with the build that impede progress, particularly with the tournament mode, on top of the usual unfinished crashiness. Luckily there was a save file with much of the good stuff unlocked. I had hoped Xbox Watson would allow me to skip past some of the errors, but no go. This game is unrelated to the Xbox 360 / Playstation 3 title of the same name. Old thread (no real great info in there): https://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?56065-Original-Xbox-Fuel
Had the opportunity to record some four player footage tonight. It was a bit of a glitchy mess, but it showed the potential was there. This is the next game I'd like to release
have you had any progress getting through some of the crashes? I remember the water races ran through fully. Did you upload the 4-player footage yet? What kind of errors are happening? I wonder if there is a more recent build out there or this is it. Anyway I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for the smooth sale. It was a pleasure to sell to you.
Sadly it looks like the tournament mode is broken, its a hard memory issue that hadn't been fixed. I would imagine it could be hacked around with some effort. I haven't uploaded anything yet since i haven't had time to write anything yet, but vehicles tend to disappear on certain tracks. It works though hah. I know the game was worked on past this, but it is unlikely that it'll turn up unless you stumble on another kit hah. Most tracks work in quick race though, but things get weird occasionally like spawning with a jet ski on a land race hah.
You'll be the first to hear about it if I find another kit LOL I wish this happened when I played it.
Of course, but these things cost money so it isn't my number one concern to upload it right now and lose out completely.
Im more than happy to help out (donating money) but please release videos, blog entrys and other games first if thats your plan. We might see this one released someday, but im sure you have many other great goodies (and maybe smaller ones where you spend waay more on.. I understand some money has to come back for those)
If you want to read more about the cancellation of Fuel, go to http://www.firetoads.com/ and click "2007", there's a big story there. There's also plenty of information about the game over the previous years. Fascinating fact: it started out life as Everglade Rush (from 1999), which was going to promote Nvidia tech, see http://www.nvidia.com/object/everglade.html, but evolved (especially when Midway caused them trouble over the use of the name "Rush"). More interestingly, there's a PC demo of Everglade Rush out there, go here for it: http://www.fileplanet.com/4096/0/0/0/1/section/Demos
So if the game is complete (as the link above says), someone at the studio must have a copy. Why don't they just release it into the wild?
I know about that and have tried to get a hold of people. There are any number of reasons why they wont give somthing out for free. Very few companies do. Licensing technology and middleware can prevent it. That's essentially asking why doesn't any company release things that they finished? Why doesn't Rare release Conker 64? Why doesn't Crytek release Free Radical Battlefront? I think you get the idea
I posted a video of a four player race a while back. Hoping to do a community release of this soon if there is interest to even bother
I would be very happy to see this released. I have played FUEL for the Xbox 360 and I remember it well. It would be awesome to try this.
