sorry, to dig up this thread again. got my first games to day and can't play them:-(

so i'm asking again, if someone can help me out with a AV-cable for the Car Marty. either with the PIN-out or with a cable itself.

appreciate it a lot. thanx :)

You can just use a multimeter on the cable in order to discern the pinout, if I'm not mistaken. So if anybody has the cable, grab a meter and you'll be done in minutes!

As it's been a while, why don't you use some solid core wire to try and find out what each of the pins do. As only 5 pins of the pins below can be signal pins (Luminace, Chromance, Composite Video, Left Audio, Right Audio), the rest are likely to be ground (I can't see any reason why a voltage pin would be wired up).

Using the microphone socket you can get an easy ground and with a multimeter (with the machine switched off) you should be able to manage to find the grounds with the voltage setting (an ohm setting would give a little voltage), with the machine turned on the video / audio pins are likely to give some voltage where the ground is likely not to register anything.

Using a TV with AV sockets you should be able to find Composite and the Audios quite easily esp if you use the microphone ground pin as er ground.

    Top row - 2, 9, 10
    Bottom row - 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

that's what i asked for on the first page already:crying: but i understand, if someone wouldn't risk to damage his car marty set only for get the harness :)

@jamex: if it's that easy, i already would've done it, but it isn't:-(

    Why isn't it easy?

All you need is solid core wire (so you can poke it into a hole), a Phono cable, a 3.5mm stereo jack plug and a pair of wire strippers, that's all you need to work out what pins are which. A multimeter is a bonus.

You have the pins that are connected to the AV port so there is no chance of connecting +5V to GND and blowing something on the board. If you've already tried and got nothing then maybe the machine is dead and hence it being 500Yen in a junk shop.

I remember when I had an old NEC VGA Multisync monitor (the ones that did SCART RGB to VGA RGB) and I didn't have a lead or a pin out so knowing the VGA pin outs I managed to work out what pins did what and effectively ran the monitor on 6 bits of sleeved solid core wire...

    Hey

I was doing some scanning and remembered this thread. I'm not sure if this will help or not but this is a scan of the instructions showing where each wire leads to. Not quite a pin-out but maybe someone will find the information useful. If you need some translation help let me know.

For the pinout of the AV connector one has only to remove the cover and look onto the pcb, the pins are clearly marked. See pic:

    Important pins:
    G+7,G+13=+7 & +12v outputs
    LCH,RCH = Audio channels
    S-Y, S-C = Svideo
    Video= CVBS
