The writing seems to be on the wall for this community. We currently have no moderators, an admin that's MIA, and most significantly, no new member accounts being approved since March. At this point I'm just waiting for an unpaid hosting bill or domain renewal to obliterate this site from the internet. I'd love to be proven wrong, but unless an admin actually appears and starts running this site, it will die one way or another. That's a pity, as there's a lot of really valuable information here which can't be found anywhere else on the internet. I'm a bit of an archivist, and I don't like to lose access to information that I find useful. Using a specially modified version of httrack plus some additional manual cleanup, I've taken a full mirror of all the content currently publicly available on assemblergames.com, as well as accessible images referenced externally. You can download the archive from the following url: https://mega.nz/#!ldFUhALQ!kkaUOLoW8bH4Suq4ZEOGtxZdHHJLBuNVaK0s5dH2hao The backup weighs in at around 21.5GB compressed/27GB uncompressed, with over 270,000 files. In order to view the content, just open "index.html" in the root of the archive and follow the link. This archive is current as of 2018-12-12. I haven't archived non-image related binary content from external links, as this forum is huge and I didn't want to mirror the entire internet. All the unique content currently stored on the assemblergames server is preserved through this mirror however. As this is a static mirror of the site, dynamic content such as the internal search feature are not available, although you can use local search tools to index and search the files. With the themes, I've enabled the "dark" theme by default, which is the style of interface most familiar to me and most representative of the roots of this site. If you want to switch it, I've mirrored the newer "light" theme too, just run "EnableDarkTheme.cmd" or "EnableLightTheme.cmd" respectively in the root folder to switch. Maybe this site will bounce back on its own, but if not, this backup will ensure the historical content isn't lost forever. Hopefully some of you will find it useful.
Theres some stuff that's worth saving in the hidden boards but as one would expect, it's only accessible to select hands.
Does anyone know what's happened to Kev? Is he just missing from here or has he dropped off the edge of the world?
Someone still does site updates, I know this because every once in a while they show up, so someone sure is running it Whether its Kevin or some unknown party I dont know. There's been no twitter posts from him as well. His steam account is private as well so there's no way to gauge his presence here.
Anyone know what the fee amounts are to keep the domain and servers up and running I’d like to contribute somehow when ever that day may come.
the last domain update is 2018/2/14 if host service is one year , mean here end at 2019/2/13 ? and thank you archive file , it take 2 hour dl finish
Is there any way to download that without installing mega's desktop client? Ideally something I can fetch via wget.
Posting for another user. Seems this part of the site has some issues. You are likely out of luck unless you feel like seeing if aria2 has support for Mega
Registry Expiry Date: 2022-03-13T04:10:07Z A whole lot of pearl clutching going on. But absolutely worth archiving. Especially non non-image related binary content from external links. Unfortunately a lot of that is already gone.
Agreed. But, just for this one file I'll install the Chrome extension(as that seems to be an option). After the download, it's getting uninstalled again 20MB/s, not bad for Mega..until it hits my "free transfer limit". Now I only gotta wait 6 hours for more transfer data! Just like a shitty cell phone game!
Nice job. It's nice to save websites in case they go down. Local searching is also much faster. Megatools is a command line tool to download from MEGA, if you are also interested. It has better resume support, so once you hit your transfer limit, you can just switch to another VPN and continue.
