    Even the pronausiation of Mario is wrong. The Mar is pronounced as in Mark in the US. The "a" is a hard "a" in that name. So it's not just with Japanese names. Saying that, I'm sure I fuck up a lot of French pronausiation :nod:

    Fun fact:
    Ever since I started having to speak English with my friends, I find myself pronouncing Japanese/German/French stuff the American (wrong) way more and more often. Just because it's more consistent with the 'flow of speaking'... I sometimes correct myself when I noticed that I said "Akeerah".

    When I speak German I pronounce everything correctly and I shit you not. The German melody is a lot closer to Japanese than English so there's no need to pronounce it with some fake LaLaLa like in Hadookin to make it more comfortable to say.

    Ask someone to say Hiroshima. They'll probably say Hiro-shiiiiiiiii-ma :D To be fair though. It is easier for me to say karaoke as karaoki and karate as karati since that is how it is said in the UK. I know it's wrong and don't use it in Japan but when speaking to a western person in English I will use it just to go with the flow.

    There is one that really pisses me off though and that the pronausiation of Moscow or should I say Mos Cow.
