Eh, I never thought that the NES classics would be concidered GOTY material, seeing as how they have been out a good 15 years (Plus the fact that TLoZ was available in Animal Crossing and the Zelda: Collectors Edition disc). Anyways, I still have plans for a few other poles in the next few days.
As it stands: Half Life 2 is first, MGS3 is second, and Other is third. Hopefully, we will reach 50 votes.
Half-Life 2, definately. Unless we can vote in Gradius V. As overrated as Halo is... worse than Counterstrike? That's low indeed... :no You need to play more quality games. :smt023 I dunno, but seeing as it WAS sortof a big event this year, maybe Doom 3 should be included as well. Thinking on it, it's hard to choose between HL2 and Doom 3, but HL2's story is just so engrossing... Plus I can actually run the full HL2 on my PC! :smt042 Well, the Doom 3 demo RAN, but...
Call me whatever, but I voted for GTA:SA. As for Counter-Strike being better than Halo 2? No. One word: wallhack. (Granted, Halo 2 has the flying sword glitch, so...)
I voted for San Andreas too, even though it's nowhere near a perfect game... then I realised I missed Half-Life 2. I wish I could change my vote :smt009 Though saying this I haven't been able to afford any games most of this year, and my PC's to crap to play anything less than 2 years old in any decent way (my graphics card is only... FOUR generations old!). The only games I think I bought this year (back when I had a job in August) were the original GB Tetris and Pokemon Sapphire... though I got NOWHERE in that. I'm cursed when it comes to finishing RPGs! On my christmas list there's: Gradius V GTA: SA And if christmas is also postponed till February: Gran Turismo 4
Half-life 2. It wasn't a perfect game, but it was about as close as any fps has been in the last few years, at least on PC. Most other games were sequals (so felt like "more of the same" with the accompanying feeling of slight disappointment that often goes with that), and were also excessively hyped and (predictably) failed to live up to expectations.
For me it´s a tie between MGS3 and Halo 2, two diferent and amazing games. But, since I could only vote for 1 game, my vote goes to Halo 2. Falow
Looking like Half Life 2 is in the lead, and I must say, it's well deserved. Just finished the game last night, and while it leaves you at a cliffhanger much like Halo 2, it actually feels like you have come to the end of the game, and it will indeed be continued. After beating Halo 2, it just felt unfinished, and even though I hadn't purchased the game (it was my roommate's), I still felt ripped off. Overall, the story was amazing, and the graphics, even at near-minimum to run decently on my machine 400Mhz below the required specs, were amazing.
