    Hey all.

Got a GameCube that was working fine, now controller port 1 does not work, but all the rest of the ports 2-4 work fine.

I flipped the controller PCB with a Gamecube that is working normally and the issue persists. Controller port 1 is not working.

This would lead me to believe there is an issue with the internal motherboard on the gamecube. Anyone have any experience with this?

I will also mention that the unit has a Pluto II board installed for HDMI.

    Thanks

I may be in over my head here but something in the mother board that connects to the controller port must be loose or fried. I’ve never messed around with the controller port before, but it sounds like it should be a simple fix since the other 3 ports work

Have a look at the filters for the controller signals - they are on the underside of the board just behind the ribbon cable connector that goes to the control panel. I think the one that handles the signal from controller 1 is "FIL9" - just check the board around that area.

Thank you all, i might have it figured out. I have installed a Pluto II HDMI kit into this GameCube and think its an issue with the wiring. With the GameCube apart, controller port 1 works. I will be resoldering certain connections in hopes of fixing this issue. Thanks again!

I have resolved the issue. Pin 94 from the Pluto board going to the GC motherboard was not making a good connection. Used the alternate solder point on the GC motherboard and the issue has been resolved.

    Thanks again for the support.

You can edit the title and put solved if you’d like. Signifies that the problem is solved while people can still discuss if they’d like
