What's up everybody. This is the gameroom since May this year. I have two Egret 2's now in the room actually and a 40 inch 4:3 LG plasma (The 16:9 Panasonic in the pics here is 52 inch) for some high res retro gaming with DC and Gamecube etc. I bought most of the stuff over the years in Japan when I lived there or went for vacation (total stay of 2 years). I never really buy a lot from internet, where's the fun in that??

That's so amazing. Collecting exclusively Japanese games myself and being a fan of CAVE-shooters I'm really stunned by what I see.
I remember your old pics on digit-press (as "Akihabara-Ken"), even "back" then it was one of my favourite collections up on DP. The stone wall with cabs and arcade posters between the shelves, really cool.
And all those soundtracks, Cave kits, superplay DVD's and figures (Ibara d^^) are the icing on teh cake!!

I'd say something about hoping all those Sega sticks have sanwa parts, but you have an actual cabinet so I'll keep quiet.

All I can say is, I'm amazed, that's a fantastic collection.

That looks like a place I could pop into for 5 minutes and not end up leaving for a week. How did you get it all back from Japan though? That lot would fill a lot of suitcases!

    Someday...

I would love to have an entire room I could dedicate to gaming/collections. Until I get the space, it's all gotta be crammed in the bedroom.

    Very nice.

Very nice. I like how you've got your games organized; very neat and tidy. I like how you've got your consoles sitting on a shelf under the TVs. A bit low for my taste, but it does look very clean and attractive.

One question: do you have any PC Engine stuff? I don't see any.

All in all, this is probably one of my 3 favourite game rooms I've come across. Actually, it's my second favourite that I can think of at the moment. It's clean, well organized and looks like it's very easy to just sit down and play something. Brilliant.

    Thanks everybody.

I don't own any PC Engine stuff. I once thought about it but I never really had a reason. I am sure there are enough good games for it but first of all I never had one growing up and sometimes you have to make choices in consoles to at least have the top 20-30 games (like with the Super Famicom and N64 and Megadrive collection for example).

You know how it goes...one day you have to collect everything Nintendo, then you have to collect everything SEGA. Especially with living close to Akihabara and other nice retro shops in the Tokyo area I made it a challenge to find the top 20 games for under a certain amount and in perfect condition to have that game hunting idea going.

What's your favourite gameroom by the way, I love to see gameroom pics, always a source of inspiration.

This one: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=5047&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=40. I think his TV entertainment unit is slightly messy (SLIGHTLY!), but that's minor. This room is very awesome.

I know what you mean about collecting for one system/company at a time. Generally, I find a good deal on a system and try to collect as many of the best games on it for a low price as I can. Generally, I go somewhere like Hard-Off and if I get a new system, I'll end up focusing on it for a while. I'm sure you were much the same. Currently, I've got pretty much every system I've ever wanted from Japan. I might pick up a Master System and a PC Engine CD add-on for a back-up system... but other than that I'm just trying to get a few more top titles for my systems. I'm pretty much satisfied with my collection. Hopefully I'll get a game room going sometime in the next decade. In the meantime, thanks for sharing yours! I'm sure I've got a few ideas from it. ;)

Wow! What a nice collection. And I see you have a white 40GB PS3 too! They're beautiful, aren't they? I got mine in one of the Tatsuya's in Osaka. Could I possibly see a list of games? Your organisation is fantastic!
    Cheers
