I was reading a thread about them a while ago and realised I'd never actually completed any, so started playing through all of them.

    Added these to the list:

    Turrican (Amiga)
    Turrican II (Amiga)

I bought a big pile of PS2 games cheap the other week and not really knowing where to start, pulled out Shadow of Memories at random and gave it a go. I don't know how well-known this is but it's a third person adventurey exploring thing set in a small German town where you begin the game by getting murdered. A helpful fellow gives you a wee time machine so you can go back and try to learn about who killed you and why, and attempt to change the past to remove any motive.

It's hideous looking, terribly acted, features some of the worst music I've ever heard and has astonishingly clunky controls but all those negatives cannot mask its genius. It's a superb idea and once I got the hang of what it wanted me to do and started upping the puzzle complexity a bit I really got into it and was able to take the broken bits as a humourous bonus. Very enjoyable and if I didn't have another 30 games to play through I might have run through it again as there are multiple endings and I finished with items I couldn't even guess where to use so I think there's a fair bit I didn't see.

Just finished Aladdin for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. I always enjoyed playing it when I was younger; but I never got past the level where you're escaping from the Cave of Wonders. Got my Mega Drive out last week and finished it. A good game; and a lot better than the SNES version!

Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition (PS3) - Awesome game, really liked it! I still have to try playing as the Joker, which will probably be fun. Can't wait to play Arkham City now.

The Journey Collector's Edition (PS3) - Only played The Journey. Although I really liked the game, it only lasted some 4 hours or less, and wasn't difficult at all. I'm glad there was no tutorial or anything saying what to do, or it would have taken even less time. Time to play the rest of the games included.

Just finished Double Dragon Neon. Great game, lot's of bad reviews out there (as in "badly written/barely played the game/didn't get the joke"), ignore those! I know on the previews the game looked awful, but boy did it get better.

The Portal inspired ending/credits was great. Fun to play, with an awesome soundtrack. Now I'm going for the Trophys.

I just "finished" Black Mesa the other day. I say finished, but really the project itself is not finished, so really I've only finished the first section of it. I really enjoyed it - I thought it was a great tribute to Half Life, and they really improved on it in a lot of ways. There were quite a few frustrating parts, but then the original Half Life was like that too. The graphics and music were pretty impressive too. Overall, it's amazing that a group of people were willing to make this massive project for free. It just shows that it's ultimately passion that drives great creative works, and money is secondary (or in this case out of the question altogether).

Ignore the reviews! I also bought this one and i'm loving every second. Tons of fun with a killer soundtrack. I'm just waiting for the online coop to be patched in. But seriously, this game rules.

Finished Dragon Age 2 finally. Gone back to get some of the missed trophies. I can't believe how unlucky I was with some of them. Missed one Enigma of Kirkwall and one material which means I had to go back and replay half of the game.
Good game but the first one was way better

Finished Darksiders 2 on pc. Many of the side quests were skipped though as many of them required quite a bit of grinding and lacked the pacing of the main story quests. I can´t see myself doing room after room after room of brainless hack and slash, I like it in small doses with puzzled and platforming mixed in.
It offered to start a new game + ... but I do not intend to return to it but I did quite like it. I´d rather finish some Dreamcast games now :)

I finished Halo Reach at the weekend so now I'm all set for Halo 4.

I personally enjoyed Reach a lot more than ODST, but man, that ending...

Finished Halo 4 on Wednesday. Finished Halo:Reach last night.

Halo 4 was visually impressive but nowhere near as fun to play as Reach.

I hate the fact that you need 8GB free to install multiplayer for Halo 4. Little tricky with a 4GB XBox.

Reach is a terrible Halo game. It does injustice to the Name Halo. It's a great game on its own if you play it not as a Halo game. But by FAR is the WORST Halo entry of ANY kind in any media. And is a flat out DISGRACE To the Fall of Reach.

From what i've Seen of Halo 4, it looks far superior to anything Bungie ever did with the universe, and it has far more respect for it too. Unlike Bungie who would just shit all over any other canon material that isn't the games.

Oh I agree the premise is terrible but from a gameplay perspective I much prefer the pace of Reach. Halo 4 felt like it was trying to squeeze me down a tunnel and is far too linear for a Halo game.

Silent Hill 2. I don't like the scary things so I never bothered with this at the time but over the years it seems to have become one of those games that everyone speaks of highly and having received it in a cheap bundle of PS2 titles I bought quite recently I decided to man up and give it a go.

It's astounding technically. The use of sound is really well done throughout and graphically it's difficult to believe this game is 11 years old. The grainy effect over everything works in its favour I suppose but the lighting, animation and character design is so good it didn't feel like playing a PS2 game at all, or maybe it's because the last one I'd played was Shadow of Memories which whilst also an enjoyable game is pretty horrific lookin'. The puzzles are a bit more taxing than standard Resident Evil fare and I was pleased I could set the difficulty for those independently of the combat, as I was mainly playing this just to experience it and not to get bogged down on a tough boss fight. I thoroughly enjoyed myself up to about the hospital five hours in.

It was nothing design-wise it really did beyond that that annoyed me (bar one maze section I could've done without) but my aforementioned low tolerance of the horror genre - it was just so relentlessly bleak that I found myself making excuses not to turn it on after a hard day and had to make myself finish it. I really liked a lot of what it was doing though and kind of had to see the end and I'm glad I finally did, I can definitely understand why so many people love it but ultimately not really my thing.

I've been playing Halo 4 and Medal of Honor Warfighter.

Halo 4, IMO, is pretty overrated. It's not terrible but it does not qualify as a solid 10. I'd rate it at 6 or 7. I felt it was suffering from the COD disease. The gameplay is virtually the same as the other Halo's. The story was the draw for me though. I wanted to see how the new developers would move the story. Personally I felt the ending was not long enough and enough wasn't explained. Why are the covenant out enemies again? How is there this forerunner planet and forerunners are still around?

MoH-WF was actually pretty good. A lot of reviews hated it but I thought it was quite enjoyable. The game controlled like Battlefield 3 but played more like COD, but is still different. It's fast paced and frantic at times. I enjoy it more than COD but it's nowhere near as good as Battlefield 3. I'd say it's more like COD that was reskined with battlefield 3 features/ideas. Not bad at all IMO.

Assassin's Creed 3: Seriously, don't bother playing this piece of shit. The present-day story is almost non-existent, though I found the series ending to be acceptable (not great, but it fits the series unlike Mass Effect 3's). Connor's story is irritating, illogical and shows zero character development. I don't care for the historical setting, and while I can do some suspension of disbelief, injecting Connor into so many important events just seemed out of place and lazy by the writers. The gameplay, however, is where this game pisses you off. Sure, the collision detection and combat in the series has always been more random and luck based than they should be, but I think that the developers intentionally broke the basic mechanics of the game. "Oh, you want to be stealthy and sneak around this building to your target? No, here's an enemy on the other side of the building looking the other direction 20m away who will now be shooting you (through the building)". There are no puzzles, only one or two areas with any kind of climbing necessary and so many trees in your way, that you can't see shit (but your enemies can see you just fine). Oh, and the game doesn't tell you how to do anything, especially what your optional objections are until after you fail them (I died once for not skinning an animal that I killed, because the developers decided that in this ONE area in ONE mission, you had to skin the animals you killed).

And then there are the glitches. Missing objectives, randomly failing objectives which shouldn't have been failed, failing to climb things (or worse, climbing things for no reason), not showing anything on the mini-map (especially enemies which are actively attacking you) and many more. Basically, Ubisoft released a game that was (I'm being generous here) about 70% finished in order to meet their in-game time-table. Seriously, if you have to know how the series "ends", just watch Youtube. If you really need to play it, then do what I did and grab it from Redbox. At least this way, Ubisoft doesn't profit as much from releasing another unfinished game.
