I have successfully managed to FTP out a bunch of games from a PS3 Tool. They were originally in dev_hdd0/game/. Some contained a DIRDRM folder that I was unable to copy. When I FTP these folder to my PS3 Test to the same path they do not appear in the XMB nor in MultiMan. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Is it even possible to copy them like this?

Try making pkg out of them? other then that I figured multiman should let you run them but IDK guess not.

As above. You need to make a PKG of them for them to show up on the XMB. Had to do the same thing with data from my TOOL's and TEST'S.

Did you rebuild the database on the ps3 test?

No, I didn't know about that option to be honest (I'm pretty new to all this). Trying to make PKGs and install on a Test console :)
