Sonic Heroes maybe? but the Dreamcast already had enough problems, so it's probably a good thing this one went to other consoles instead.

Oh yes Heroes of Might & Magic was even featured on the showcase reel on one of those Dream On discs....

Sonic Heroes is very possible, I'd say that was certainly meant for Dreamcast, maybe Billy Hatcher too.

OH! I see, I think that Legit guy has it.... You'd have to ask him, I guess.

It's a shame it hasn't been leaked I'm pretty sure I read it was complete too...

In Sonic Generation Sega even considers Sonic Heroes as part of the "Dreamcast era"
And yeah no doubt Billy Hatcher was intended for DC it just matches the over all style of Sonic Team games of the era too, also I remember the Dream On discs! Distinctly one that showcased MSR with only the Opel Roadster and the Shinjuku track, haha memories!

The Opel Roadster disc was actually released in the UK as a White Label disc or store demo. I own the very disc as I'm sure a few other people do.

Yeah it sure was! but it was of course was used for the same purpose, to demonstrate the game, the only difference was that the Dream On! disc I had when I was 7 or 8 also included other Demos for other Dreamcast games like TrickStyle and a game that involved toys taking over a house, though I can't remember the name of that game now :p

Here are a few notes based on games I've already seen mentioned in this thread:

    Sonic Heroes
For the longest time various magazine and website release tables were listing a "Sonic And Knuckles RPG," which was either an early title for Sonic Adventure or Sonic Heroes - I've read conflicting reports over the years, though. I personally think the latter was more likely, especially since I seem to recall this particular name appearing around the same time Daytona USA 3 (or Daytona USA 2001, as it finally became known) was first documented.

    Dronez
This one actually saw the light of day in the form of a PC graphics card benchmark test, but definitely not as a console or arcade project as originally promised.

    SCUD Race
Core Design only ever produced a handful of tech demos running on incomplete Katana development kits, and there certainly wasn't ever any serious plan to fully convert this Model 3 game... probably because it would have taken the spotlight away from Sega Rally 2.

    Virtua Fighter 4
AM2 did indeed conduct initial research into whether or not the Dreamcast would be able to reproduce this NAOMI 2 game to Yu Suzuki's high levels of personal satisfaction, yet in the end it was passed over to the PlayStation 2. Although some degree of preliminary hardware study may still exist, I wouldn't realistically expect anything like near-complete or even basic playable code to ever surface.

P.S. Wasn't the original abandoned concept for The House Of The Dead III prototyped on the Dreamcast before being switched over to the Xbox-based Chihiro board? I'm fairly sure cel shading was used in the beginning to hide technical limitations, with the final version able to depict a far more photorealistic visual style.

I'd like to think VF4 was fully capable of running on the Dreamcast, I think Sony paid to have VF whilst Sega were in financial dire straits.

HoTD 3 was indeed intended for DC it's on the Euro games coming in 2001 booklet included in all games from Dec 2000 onwards Gun Valkyrie was also on the list.

All the graphically intense stuff was coming it seems :(

Dronez was released for the Xbox in Japan. It was fully developed, but never released for the Xbox in the US or EU.

I forgot about Dronez receiving a Japanese release on the Xbox... *facepalm*

P.S. Even if Virtua Fighter 4 wasn't reaching the NAOMI 2 board's limitations, this particular architecture could generate up to 10 million polygons per second with 5 simultaneous light sources - that's far beyond the Dreamcast's technical boundaries!

I think VF4 was very possible still, this machine seems to be more than the sum of its parts and AM2 made some of the more impressive games on the system, I think more they didn't want to waste the resources and time it would take to down sample it to a dying system.

Sadly, we'll never know how far the Dreamcast could be pushed graphically :(

Did Fox Interactive have a Dev kit? I know Buffy, Planet of the Apes and Worlds Scariest Police Chases were all due in 01/02
