I feel the same way. I would much rather have a block button and be able to freely move back, but thats just a matter of opinion.
Hmmm, what comes to my mind right now are the following titles: Superman 64 (N64) => Just awful. Redsteel (Wii) => Tried, really hard, to like the game, but controls sucked big time. Star Wars Clone Wars (DS) => There is something not quite right. The touch controls are a bit annoying, they could have just made it with regular controls and it would have been a nice title. Scribblenauts (DS) => Really bad controls killed the game as soon as you start playing it.
Tetris (Famicom) - Rotate using the joypad and drop using A... argh.... Scribblenauts (DS) - One game that made me want to chuck the DS against the wall. Using the touch screen to do nearly everything makes the game harder and most irratating then it should have been... Streetfighter 2 (PC Engine / Megadrive) - Although with a 6 button pad they were fine, without it the game was basically unplayable with the PC Engine or Megadrive pad...
Correct me if im wrong, but didnt the genesis/md version of SF2 on a 3 button pad require you to hit start to switch between kicks and puches?? yikes!
Daytona CCE US edition for the Saturn pretty much took all that made the original Daytona great and raped it with a rusty wrench. The cars are ugly, the music is awful and the control, THE CONTROL! ...was like maneuvering in a snow slope while riding a blow-up doll smeared with cooking oil...
Yep, that was correct. Still, I preferred playing it this way than using those horrible Super NES controller shoulder buttons.
What?! The music in CCE was just brilliant. Doesn't live up to the legendary Takenobu Mitsuyoshi but Richard Jacques is awesome, as is this "dude". Regarding controls the two Crusader games for DOS I wanted to like but never could get used to the keypad. Both titles had awful gamepad support.
Early Resident Evil titles and Super Mario 64. I die so often just because I can't friggin' move the way I want. And the controls for FFXIII seem to be.... Meh.... mainly in the field.
