Some of the games mentioned have music nothing like what has been asked for, I mean it's like me asking for a recommendation for 70 punk rock band and being recommended Edward Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance...
A game I never saw posted in these threads about game music is Phantom Crash for the Xbox. IMO an awesome soundtrack, but unfortunately I never found an OST for sale or download or even ripped tracks from the game, only some short samples from the old official site
Same as REZ, etc. with licensed tracks from real musicians (not Rock either, last I checked). I'm cruel, I know.
Little Big Planet has a fantastic soundtrack. I fell in love with 'The Go! Team' after hearing one of their songs in this game.
I remember, as a 7th grader, I went onto the SA2 website and heard that main riff of the title song and thought it was so damn cool. Then I played the demo that came with PSO. Then I got the actual game and heard these had actual fucking VOCALS in them and had to hang myself with the Christmas tree so I didn't look like a total tool to my family.
Metropolis Street Racer has some good songs. Who could forget "let's get it on tonight" ? If punk-rock is something you like, Propeller Arena has a good soundtrack, too.
Dude! Fuck yes! Especially the USA version! Nothing beats blaring that shit in my friends car while he can't control the radio with the windows open!
Phantom Crash for xbox has a great variety of punk rock/J-pop tracks. Really the only reason to play the game is for the soundtrack.
