That's funny, because I was just playing Game Gear Land of Illusion earlier. Seems a lot easier than it did when I was a kid...
Well they cost you your soul AND first born (how'd you manage Panzer Dragoon saga?) I would imigine you would spend alot of time with them. I assume you'd say Blast Wind is worth the high price point it goes for? I've been on the fence about it.
I know Sonic 3 and Knuckles pretty damn well, you can get all the chaos emeralds on Sonic 3 by Hydrocity Zone and you can get all the emeralds on Sonic and Knuckles in the Mushroom Hill Zone. Had both these games as a kid they got played to death, playing the Doomsday Zone with Hyper Sonic is pretty epic, definitely worth doing at least once. I know Super Mario World like the back of my hand as well, I wasted many countless hours with Lunar Magic editing the game making weird and wonderful levels.The overworld and event editor is tricky but you get the hang of it eventually, you can make some really interesting designs just with the basic graphics supplied in SMW, that's not getting started on importing your own graphics and blocks. Pretty fun stuff, I gave up on it though when I realised I had to learn ASM language to do what I wanted to do lol.
Holy crap, this takes me back! I also did a 100% of this game. Favorite THPS, IMO. I probably don't remember much of it though, it has been years since I played through it again.
Damn! Some of you have pretty big lists! I would have to add this to my list as well. A local NeoGeo cab sucked the quarters from me as I tried to beat it every time I went to this burger joint. Then I got the PS Underground demo disc with the Japanese Metal Slug demo, first level over and over again. Then I remember finally beating it on the cab, & then just getting better and better from there. Such a superb game, & the pixel art is one in a million. Someone mentioned Tony Hawk, & I instantly remembered so much about the first one. I played the hell out of that on a Pizza Hut demo disc as well before actually owning it. . . I miss the old days.
I've probably beaten Earthworm Jim 2 a few hundred times. I could play it blindfolded by now. I was watching my friend play it the other day, and I had to resist the urge to tell him what to do every 3 seconds. I've also similarly mastered Portal and Portal 2, I guess partly because I've played them so many times, but also partly because they're not too difficult (still very fun, though). There are also a bunch of games I've mastered just the first few levels, but I haven't played the rest of the game enough to have a similar skill level. I don't feel like listing all of those. The first Metal Slug is a tough game. The first few levels are pretty easy, and then it gets progressively harder, almost to the point of absurdity. If I didn't have free play, I'd probably never beat it. I'm getting better at it, though.
Cave story. I've played through the game countless amounts of times. I could most likely play it in my sleep. Edit~ Forgot about Trip world, I can beat the game quite quickly now.
Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario World The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (original and DX) Sonic 1 Sonic 2 Guitar Hero Guitar Hero II Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s
I (used to) play a lot of arcade shooters for score, so I had to know them in and out in order to master them (1 credit clear/no miss clear/score). These games are the ones I had completely memories: As in, I knew the position of EVERY enemy, enemy wave and boss and how to tackle it. No surprises, just application of skill and tactics. Ikaruga (I still know EVERY single enemy position in this game by heart and how to defeat it in the ideal way in terms of score... seriously) DoDonPachi Daioujou Ketsui Fast Striker Gradius 1 & II Battle Garegga Soldier Blade Mars Matrix Tatsujin (Arcade) OutZone Raiden Fighters JET I may forgot some... Also memorized GTA VC, GTA SA and GTA IV for sure. I basically had every location in my head, mainly because of searching the damn stunt jumps and hidden rats/packages
It is, I think. I almost beat it once, then lost my credit in the latter half of the final stage (as it's fucking long). Still not as hard as 2 though, let alone 3, 4, 5...
4 and 5 are hard mainly because of bullshit design, unsurprisingly as they're the absolute nadir of the series.
It has to be Super Mario Bros and the entire PS1 Resident Evil series. I've beaten RE2 over 100 times so far. I can beat the game in a little bit over an hour with no damage and little ammo used. You can actually get around most enemies without killing them. I've beaten RE1 maybe 70 times and know everything. I can also beat with without taking damage and beat it under 1.5 hours.
Final Fantasy VIII & DEMENTO/Haunting Ground. I could probably play through them blind. FFVIII I know I can do for the most part blind (world map gets me slightly). I don't even remember how many playthroughs I've done on either of those two now. ^^;
Hmmm, i'd have to say (in descending order): Halo (the soundtrack also if that counts as well?) Metal Gear Solid 3 Resident Evil 2 and 4 Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Devil May Cry (PS2 original) Sonic 3 Sonic Adventure Fight Night Round 3 on the PSP - Ricky Hatton There are others; they are off of the top of my noggin By Castle of Illusion do you mean the Disney Mickey game?
Nope! I bought Panzer Dragoon Saga the day it came out ($50 iirc). Got Taromaru 2nd hand before it hit retarded prices ($70 I think?) And I got Blast Wind from greg at shmups.com for $30 in... 2005 or 2006 I think. And I love Blast Wind, so I'm biased. But yes, I'd say it's worth the money. Best soundtrack of any game ever IMO.
Tenchu: Return from Darkness on the original Xbox I played that game to death. I know each level layout by heart. Something about that game grabbed me and never let go.
Bioshock 1, GTA IV + EFLC, GTA San Andreas, Crysis 1. I'm not really crazy about most games, but those are the ones I've either really liked or fully 100%'ed. Or overplayed.
