You know what I'm talking about. I'm typing on my iPhone, so I'll make this brief for now. Metroid: Fusion. I looked all over for a copy in the wild, and when I finally found one, it became a reason to get a GB Micro. As I played it my euphoria gradually decreased, and decreased, and decreased. I could write paragraphs addressing the way this game disappointed me. Now I remember why I stopped plaing it back when it came out and switched to Mario Golf Advance.
Portal 2 Bioshock 2 Perfect Dark Zero Shadowrun 360 It's endless. Anything that is a lesser sequel really.
definetly Far cry 2.....pre-ordered the Limited Ed. and then I realized that it sucks....the open world theme is pretty cool actually, but it's seriously annoying that you are chased by a jeep every 500 meters -.-
Gears of War 2, big time. I would agree with Assembler now about PDZ, but back when I first had it I enjoyed it alot. Same with Shadowrun, liked it initially then it lost its charm. Fallout New Vegas belongs in there too. It seemed so promising but it ultimately was a big let down in my opinion.
Most recently, FAST Racing League on WiiWare. It's not bad, but I was hoping to get something that plays a bit like F-Zero. Damn you Miyamoto, why did you have to dislike F-Zero GX... OH: I want a new real F-Zero NOW.
I've yet to play that one. From what I recall it was billed as some really, really cool open ended game that, if pulled off, would have been totally awesome. Given how open ended it was and how they were billing it I knew that it was going to be a disappointment if I bought into their hype and probably pretty good if I stopped paying attention until it came out. Halo 2 was a pretty big let down honestly. The story that we were given and the demonstration at E3 showed something beyond amazing. Then the story was scaled back considerably and Bungie crammed the entire game into a year or so dev cycle. It showed. After that I've never been able to get excited for a game until after I started to play it. Portal 2 would've been a huge disappointment had I followed it as closely as others I know did as well as dropping a full $50 on it day 1. Because of that I loved Portal 2.
Mafia 2 Loved the first mafia game when it came out but as for the 2nd although it is a good game i just didn't like it as much as i was hoping i would.
I remember being pretty hyped about C&C: Tiberian Sun before it came out, because the previews were promising all kinds of cool features like deformable terrain and customizable units. When I played it, I realized it didn't really bring anything dramatically new to the C&C formula. The deformable terrain ended up being a bunch of predetermined cliffs and bridges you could shoot, and you could choose a weapon for one vehicle in the game. That's it for the features that sounded so good in the previews. I'm sure there are a lot of games that disappointed me, but they've probably been forgotten because of the disappointment. Maybe they'll come to mind...
mmh... maybe Half-Life 2. The ideas are great and I liked the storyline, but the gameplay itself felt a bit unpolished to me. Kinda stiff... I never saw the ending and I don't even know how far I got (lighthouse, a bit after the long bridge).
Alone in the Dark 2008. The preview videos were amazing, the game looked great, the combat and driving system seemed pretty interesting. But in the end the game sucked balls, the controls were AWFUL in every way. But what really pissed me off, is that the game starts off really well, the story is interesting at the beggining, but as soon as I entered into Central Park, the game went downhill, it gets so lame it doesen't even have a proper ending.
VR Racing on Mega Drive Bought it new cost me and my brother £40 and you could only have one car we thought other wise before hand
RE4 - RE5 Super Mario Sunshine Metroid Prime Every Sonic after Adventure 2 (excluding 1 portable game) Every GTA after Vice City Doom 3 Every MK between 3 and 9 Every Metal Gear Solid after 1 (Twin Snakes Excluded) LOZ MM & LOZ TP (Wind Waker still the best recent Zelda) Every COD after 2 Super Smash Bros Brawl Mario Kart Wii Also, Square Games after merging with Enix, and Enix games after merging with Square! lol Seriously, the list would be endless... + I am a hard man to please.;-)
That's what people say every time. This is their last chance... no wait, this is their last chance... no, this one!
