I figured this would be a good topic for people to let out some games that they weren't able to fully beat by themselves GTA: Vice City, A friend helped me on some of the missions Kid Icarus... I'm still trying to beat this mother... but damn... its a tough game. Ikaruga...(Played it quite alot, but never to the extent of "beating it")
GTA: SA - Supply lines. SO FREAKING HARD Does being mega cheap in Oblivion count? I wasn't exploiting glitches, but mainly gameplay mechanics. Not like the intelligence potions of Morrowind, but making weapons that do more damage if you swing them rapidly due to stacking weakness to "___" effects and having the same effects on said weapon? I made a short Sword that could kill almost everything in 3-4 hits, if each hit landed consecutively and quickly. 2 hits for most weak NPCs.
A lot of shmups I have not beat...I consider "beat" to mean 1 cc'd through the game....and I have only done that for a handful of 'em.
I've completed pretty much most games I own and play but there are some that I just can't do. Undercover cops on hard for the Super Famicom is a right bitch to complete. Contra, again on the SFC on hard is so tough as well. The problem is that you need to complete them on hard to get the real ending Yakumo
I always cheat on the GTA games, since I dislike the backtracking the game has most of the time. Also, if you consider reading the guides for Phoenix Wright to find the solutions cheating, then I cheat with the Ace Attorney series as well.
i always cheat when i play the red and blue versions of pokemon. i'll also cheat in guitar hero games. i just want to play all the songs right out of the box.
Pitfall for the Mega Drive, mainly because on the second to last level it would give a memory error and lock up. Any Tomb Raider.
lol. ghouls and ghosts definitely. I never could make it very far in master blaster either. Also, I can't beat the last tier in GH3 expert mode.
Shadowgate - the one game where you can do something which makes it impossible to complete (say, covering the only escape route with acid by opening the wrong chest) but the game will happily continue playing regardless until you give up.
Bionic Commando arcade. Back in the day I would get so angry at that thing cuz it looked like a great game on the surface, but it was just too brutal enjoy. Thank god for the awesome NES follow-up.
Whats this mission about? I remember having quite a lot of trouble with beating a particular mission on GTA SA, but then I figured out that I just always tried it the wrong way around Games I was never able to beat (but tried very hard for a certain period of time): - Mars Matrix (made it only once to the last stage with 1 credit) - Viewtiful Joe (the shark boss...) - Metroid Prime - Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow The last two games were abandoned by myself because I just can't accept that a game's idea is to make the player searching for a certain door for HOURS to get forward.
