A lot of old Micro computer games and games on the NES. Damn, games were hard back then. Two that come to mind: Bart Vs The Space Mutants on the NES. Reptile fight in Mortal Kombat. There is nothing better than finally beating a tough game though. I remember each Ridge Racer game on the PS1 and beating the super cars. Especially the original Ridge Racer vs the Devil Car. That was a tough one. Also getting Devil as a playable character in the original Tekken. I never did that. Stupid Galaga.
It was the mission where you drive a small toy airplane with guns attached to it, and you have to kill these certain guys before they get too far. The hard thing is: You NEED to go after them in a certain order of you won't have enough fuel to get back. You have limited fuel You don't have much time And even after killing all the enemies, you MUST get back to the spawning area before running out of fuel.
Ah yeah, ok mine was another ^^. But the one with the toy airplane is tough, yeah... I managed to accomplish only with about 1mm of fuel left. The best way to kill those guys is to land behind or next to the vehicle and shoot them from short distance. It's worth the effort because there are still lots of inventive and hilarious missions to come!
"Bart's Nightmare" for SNES is the only game I ever played that I couldn't beat even on an emulator with save-states and Game Genie codes What was WITH that game? More serious answers: The hard mode on "Metalstorm" for NES Gyruss Does "Treasure Master" count? *heh*
i just buy them faster than i can play them. i always tell myself, "I don't need to get this, I've got plenty of games I need to play." but, uh, that doesn't stop me, i just buy them anyways... :noooo:
I rarely get time to play games anymore which is terrible, my new March resolution though is to start finding time. Last game I completed would be Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for Wii. Far too easy and far too short. Games I have always had trouble completing - Terminator for Sega Master System (This is hard even when you do cheat) Mario 64 (Could never find all the stars without cheating)
I rarely use cheats at all, but the few times I do is to avoid the risk of dying due to boredom, cuz theres nothing as boring as having to play the same level 20 times or more just becos some idiot during development couldnt see that you would only have 3% of life left at the point where he added that enemy/trap there. For example I used the life+shield trick in GTASA during the ending cuz the way enemies shot you from everywhere and that damn smoke that blocks the view make what could be an awesome mission a struggle to finish the damn game once and for all. Another example is using save states in Chaotix to get the good ending, mostly thanks to the poorly coded special stages that make control almost impossible.
Target Earth (Sega Genesis) - I could clear about 3 levels with lots of practice, but in the end I just gave up and used the invincibility cheat to at least see the end and get my money's worth. Those were the days of buying games and forcing yourself to like them even if you were disappointed...no Gamestop trade-ins in that era.
Not only that but the average game back then was $60. Adjusted for inflation those games would be like a $100 or more today.
