Just finished wiring my gaming set up in after a month of buying bits and bats to finish it off (still waiting for a PSU for my NES to arrive!), but I'm finally happy with it! Everything is set up to play on either TV (in case I want to play a phaser game) and it's all hooked up to a Dazzle capture device for recording gameplays too. The bit I'm proudest of is the wiring, I've had loads of nice gaming set ups over the years and I've always been unhappy with the mess of spaghetti round the back so this time I decided It was gonna be ultra neat. I stapled twist ties to the backs of all the shelves to keep all the wires in order and out of sight, the one wire you can see is for my webcam, haven't decided where it's going yet . There's just one more thing I need to finish it off to be my ideal set up, but I'll have to wait until after christmas as my wife has bought me it for a present
DrDoaK: you just wanted to watch the world burn. you put nintendo and sony in chronological order then dont do it with sega AHHHH FIX IT FIX IT NOW!!!
Nice!! Great cable management, I had to do the same with one of my previos setups, stapling the ties like that works like a charm. BTW, which AV Switch/Selectors are you using? (Brand? How many inputs? Powered?) Thanks!
Here is my gaming Hovel. Not much hardware as I mainly rely on emulators. So, pinball I restored and custom "capcom" x-arcade stick.
Living with my parents for the time being. I set up my stuff in my cramped old room. It sorta fits... Excuse the mess, I could have easily cleaned up a little but... Eh, then it wouldn't be legit! I made the TV stand. Got the TV (LG 42", 720p) broken from Craigslist ($20) and it didn't have a stand so I made the cabinet and added a wall mount off the back side. Works pretty well. Plenty of room to put my center channel (Klipsch KV 3) under the TV. The right third of the cabinet is for AV equipment, sized appropriately so I can stack components (cassette tape and Laserdisc at the moment) and a receiver (currently on the top). Then the left two thirds has space for 3-4 systems per shelf. The wood is actually stained black, you can see the grain up close but generally looks just straight black. View from the doorway. Bunkbed, baby! Messy messy... but hey, it's just temporary. Behind this is my old setup (never moved it out of here) and games and storage and stuff like that. I probably could have cleaned this part up a little more over the past couple years but... well, I didn't. Almost forgot: I have a 120mm fan installed in the back of the upper cavity, behind the PS3/360. It keeps my systems very cool, constantly pulling cold air in from the front instead of letting all that heat build up and fester within the shelf. Forgot to take a picture of that...
What awesome setups! Can't wait to build a proper game cave oneday. This is my latenight gaming station haha, 52inch full HD plasma and turtle beachs equals many late nights...
Beautiful setups in here! Here's mine. I'm lovestruck and stuck on Wave 6, but there is a red Wii in there now too. Couldn't wait any longer on the Wii Tenchu.
It is! No problems with it for me but that is not a blanket statement. I wish I could find one in indigo but idk if 16mb even exists in that color. I have grand plans to sex up that cube. Eventually I want a black bottom panel with an indigo Gameboy player. An indigo card would look clean with it and Joytech had the most understated ones.
I have a few of the JoyTech cards and they are probably some of the best third party cards out there. They were also dirt cheap when the cube got axed. I got my 16MB card for $10 at Wal-Mart. Speaking of the cube, my local Wal-Mart has a section for discontinued goods and they have some GameBoy advance games as well as Gamecube games. I picked up a brand new copy of Metroid Fusion for $8.
Guess I'm more of a minimalist: 1. XBOX 360 2. 55" plasma 3. Sennheiser wireless headphones I have Netflix and Hulu Plus so no need for a cable box. I haven't bought a DVD in about 10 years so no need for the player, plus I can stream videos from my PC to the XBOX. The headphones sound better than any sound system I've had (plus I can crank it up without bothering the neighbors) so no need for a stereo. I only play a handful of games at a time or else I trade them in so no real stock there. The XBOX DVD remote is a nice plus since you don't have to fool with the controller and it controls the TV as well.
PS1collector that's a right dump. Tidy up man. I don't know if you have cockroaches in Iceland but if you do I bet they'd love running around your room.
