Looks like most of it is Ikea - if I am not mistaken. The bookcase looks to be of the 'Billy' line, don't know about the other furniture.
Thanks, yeah I have a list of all the furniture in my You Tube video It's all in the description. You're half right, it's pretty much all from Ikea but they're not the cheap billy bookcases.
Ah, close! That's actually good to know, I'll check the description of the video. I was looking for an Ikea solution as well but didn't like the Billy line as the quality is not very good when I saw it in person.
Well my "closet project" to store games, joysticks and controllers didn't last me very long. It's already overflowed into 2 additional shelves and a few drawers. Hoping to take Tax money this year and build ceiling high shelving for games in room surrounding my Sega CRT and Little 32" flatscreen, then replace the shelving in this closet to hold my 35 (i'm including handhelds in that #) systems in that room (Have 4 more systems up front in living room)and of course, joysticks and controllers. That should hopefully buy me a few years before I have to decide wether I'm going to downsize, or move the whole kit and caboodle to the garage.
Not Ikea (although I have an Ikea plan for the main part of room) I actually built that from just using shoe racks from Target for the joystick racks and the shelves were built using Rubbermaid fast tracks and media shelving I cut to size. I cut wooden slats to place behind the games so they can be pushed back evenly as well. I made sure to have the shelving tracks sitting on small wooden blocks on the floor for weight distribution and used big drywall anchors to stick to the wall itself. Basically..I just winged it one weekend..lol.
Looking good. I take it you are using two different LED sets to light up the boxes in different colours.
Hey guys. I made some updates to my Basement Mancave Game Room. So I decided to make a new video. Hope you all like what I did with my controllers.
Nice! Very neat & tidy, loved it! The controller wall looks very practical but ain't it a bitch to keep dust free? Any arcade cabbies in mind to add to that space?
Thanks for the kind words. Being in a basement, dust isn't too much of an issue. I'm not looking for any particular arcade. Just something cheap that works. If I had to pick though, I would love an NBA Jam cabinet.
Thanks, yes it's the Linnmon / Alex Table from Ikea. I have a list of all furniture and hardware in the description for me video here.
What do the sega saturn cases look like in japan? I know in the UK we have these tall black plasticy ones (that i dont like personallu) its interesting to see how the cases vary region to region. We have thick ps1 and dreamcast cases whereas the states have cd cases for both iirc. Back on topic what does everyone recommend for storing games, shelves/bookcases etc (im just starting my game room so any tips welcome)
In Japan, Saturn and Dreamcast games use standard CD cases. So do PlayStation games after the first year of release. For storing games a standard bookshelf with adjustable shelving is ideal. That's what I use for the SFC and Mega Drive games while the disc based games are stored on CD bookstsand shelving.
Just finished another wall and 1/2 in my small game room. New computer desk and TV stand for my CRT/Vectrex/2600/fairchild etc. Just finished the lighting..need to figure out a way to brighten up the shelves though. colored led spotlights maybe? The Mrs and I were actually looking at having a tough shed fully insulated/AC/Heater etc and putting it in back yard for my collection. Basically a bigger room in the backyard so I have room to grow.
