    Thanks everybody for the feedback!

Switching logic is different here (in contrary to gscartsw), there is no priority, whichever signal is picked first gets forwarded.

This is a good find! What happens is that switch logic queries video sync and if it doesn't exist it switches to the next input and so on. But at the query time it forwards audio as well and if nothing else is turned on and there is some audio on any input port it's gonna forward it to the output for the short period so you're gonna hear "clicking". I will disable audio multiplexer chip at times when no video is found.

    Thanks for the review @retrorgb!

Any reason for the change in switching logic when compared to the gscartsw? Curious if it's a choice you've made or a technical limitation of component.

This is technical limitation of the current detection approach to reduce switch complexity. If I would do it the same way as in gscartsw v3.4 it would be more expensive.

1st one on gets the signal.... simple enough. My gcompsw works like a charm. Only issue I think that could arise is someone who wants to stand it up has to find a solution to do so.

So far testing is going well!

    Port 1: XBOX 360 - Component
Port 2: Nintendo Wii - Component
Port 3: Panasonic 3DO - Using Composite video feed into the switch to detect video signal and switch while feeding S-Video directly into Frameister Mini for increased video quality.
Port 4: Atari 2600 with Composite mod.

Output: Component and Composite video along with audio being feed into a Frameister mini with the HDMI receiver going to a Denon AV Receiver.

As others have noted regarding the switching it is first come first serve. I have only tested with 2 items powered on so far but between 2 component sources or a mix of composite and component switching works fine once the first device is powered off.

As the switch only has 1 set of audio outs you will need to split the audio feed in order to feed component & composite sources into the Frameister (unless there is a way to change video/audio source matching within the Frameister software that I do not know about).

I'll try an extended gaming session to see if there are any issues to shake out regarding stress testing.

    Thanks!

Did the prototype testing result in any modifications for the next version?

There is one minor issue where when you have only audio jacks in any port and the switch is always searching for the signal and you hear that audio for the short period of time. I'm gonna disable audio forwarding when no video is detected. Other than that there isn't going to be any changes.

Sorry if I missed it - really enjoying the 2 GSCARTs I've got running now...could use one of these as well - any approximate time for when they will be for sale, and for about how much?

    Thanks!

There is one more gcompsw v1.0 unit available for purchase at http://www.gretrostuff.com
This is the last unit of the recent batch which I kept here to make sure I'll be able to debug in case of any found issues.
No issues were found so someone can snatch it.

    EDIT: It's gone!

Where can I go to purchase one or two of these? I am also very interested in the scart switch but know that is very limited. How can I put my name on the list for a preorder? I've subscribed to the threads and hope to get a response. Thanks!

I've ordered some bigger batch which will be available around the same time as gscartsw current pre-order batch. Everything is here: http://www.gretrostuff.com

Very excited for the next batch. I've been looking at the Impact Acoustics switchers, but would much rather have this for the automatic switching.
