Assuming these regulator bodies can get those countries to enforce the fines then yes everyone will get serious. Until then GDPR is going to be a complete mess.
Really? Are you proud of our shitbag president? That asshole lacks even the tiniest shred of dignity or humanity. How can you be anything but embarrassed of him?
He said he was proud to be American, not of Trump. That dipshit doesn't represent every American. Its amazing how hard some people try to make every conversation an anti-Trump circlejerk lmao.
When a site lacks proper moderation it tends to be overrun with shitposting children that offer nothing of value.
Thats because it is doing great, the government however is a mess as its always been. Just because our president cant go five minutes without saying some stupid shit doesn't mean the country is *suddenly* terrible.
I think the argument is, if the majority of people voted for someone like that, the country as a whole has an issue for choosing that. If the UK voted in the next Hitler, you would assume the country/people had a big underlying issue. Regardless of how well trade or the economy was doing at the same time. Obviously an over exaggeration, but just get the point I think people are trying to get across.
Well it actually wasnt the majority, electoral college yo. If the DNC hadn't rigged the system for their girl who comes from an extremely corrupt family, Bernie would have won and we wouldn't have Trump.
As a bit of reminder this does exist https://assemblergames.com/threads/the-political-thread-rant-away.3583/ GDPR (pretty sure that stands for Gigabyte Disc Programmable Read-only) compliance would probably be good at some point just in case, but I wouldn't sweat it. I imagine the EU will go after the big fish before trolling through the billion something websites out there.
One small city with shitty water != All of America That started in 2014 under Obama, but that doesn't matter because its under the local governments control you goon.
@ASSEMbler Your American exceptionalism rant is hilariously stupid. Are you confused about the relationship between the EU and US or what? Are you using users' data illegitimately? And do you really think the GDPR will really affect AssemblerGames? Why mess up the trading tags because of this? Are you going to put a "US citizens only" sign on the site? What about "nO aDuLtS!" sign, so you can keep the site all to yourself?
Well so far I’ve saved money on taxes and I get to take 6 weeks off work to bond with my new born, the boarders are getting safer and people are still allowed to become US citizens. America and trump administration is doing pretty well. Hopefully your able to benefit like I have. Hang in there man.
GDPR could easily backfire and lead to sites banning residents of the EU. If the cost of implementing or complying with GDPR exceeds the financial gain, the EU is going to get its own great firewall. As a liberal American, I find this new law to be a huge overstep by the EU and wouldn't mind if our insane president retaliated. It's not that I'm against consumer protection, I just don't like the idea that laws made overseas will materially effect us here. This is something that should have been implemented with the support of countries worldwide, kind of like the paris agreement or TPP. https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/u-...-europe-as-gdpr-data-rules-kick-in-1527242038
Big deal, there's already tons of content that is blocked in Europe. Loads of videos on YouTube are unavailable. We'll manage.
