This is so stupid. I can't believe they really came through with that, even all the big papers are criticizing it as plain actionism that does not prevent a single killing spree, initialized out of necessity before the elections and yet they don't seem to react at all on these critic voices.

    Well fuck them!

If you can find a country that doesn't do that, I'd move there in a heart beat. But I don't think you ever will.

I have said it before, Germany should give the Danes Søren Kam, but still Germany is picking their nose in that case, but I do not give a toss, since just because Søren Kam is an old fuck, then it doesn't he should not get his rightful punishment which is jail for the rest of his shitty life. But well, Germany has gotten two numbskulls of two neo Nazis who hadn't broken any laws in Denmark, so as I said I don't give a toss anymore about the government in Germany when it comes to all that censorship bullshit they are having with the violent games. The last time I mentioned this case, there I was called a racist and what not, but if Germany want to become China in censorship laws, then they can go right ahead, since they are close to doing that in the area (of censorship) . Just because you live in a "Democracy" , a Bundes Republic , a federal republic / constitutional republic. Then it doesn't mean any of us are living in a free world. But before you attack , I must say I feel with the German members we have here. Since it is sad what the Germans has to go through in a lot of cases with the laws. But I do understand why the wolfenstein games are NOT legal in germany to this day. but it is not because they are shooting Nazis in the game, but I believe it has something to do with shooting their country men from an era which was a very bad era. But those are my thoughts about that.

This has nothing to do with either the WWII, Danish war criminals, or Nazism. Try to stay on topic.

Actually, I am on topic, I just strayed a bit off topic. With the SK jam. But basically what does a ban of so-called violent games leads a man or a woman ? nowhere ! That is the main point of my post. And then again I think it IS fucking stupid, when it comes to their censorship in many ways. And it is not just games they censor.

Well, I am going slightly off topic here, but the BBC have announced that France has introduced draconian legislation that could see Internet users in France (and French territories) banned from access for life if caught illegally downloading copyright material such as films and music.

In Britain ISP companies are refusing to accept Government calls for them to Police the usage & download habits of their UK customers.

It looks like Europe is divided on this issue (like many others).

As for Germany banning paintball, what a pointless waste of time!

They refused their plans to outlaw Paintball today due to the massive public pressure. It was heavily criticized in the last few days not only on forums or chats but also in various newspapers and their online platforms. Now they first wanna "check how dangerous this game really is" before they think about further actions. In other words: they got cold feet and nothing is gonna happen anymore.

Nakian, thanks for giving A. Snow a history lesson, so my so-called offtopic in an offtopic wasn´t really that much off topic. Damn, why the fuck is it that I always get the whip when I do not deserve it ? But then again it is nothing new in my case.

I don't quite understand this phrase. In terms of the acceptance of games in society or new forms of art in general, I am agreeing with you guys that the Nazi past has indeed to be considered when one wants to fully understand this kind of reluctant attitude.

On the other hand I just can't stand it any more that there's always someone bringing in that Nazi argument. There's a censor's office like ours in almost every country. Japan has it, Australia is hit even harder than we are in some areas, even the US are censoring something. But if there's anything being censored in Germany someone will sure come along and say like "wow those nazis never learn" (exaggerated). The BPJM (german office for offensive media) is a normal institution which does good work in my opinion. They never wanted a general violent-games ban, the original RtCW (without swastika's) even got a 16-rating before it was banned as reaction on an external desire.

It is really unfair to compare them with Nazi censorship and whoever is doing that obviously needs a lengthy history lesson himself in order not to exploit that tough nazi comparison.

Very true however I was talking more about the context in which WolverineDK was using them.

The problem isn't so much that you go off topic. That's something we are all guilty off at times and I'm certainly no exception. The problem I see with your posts (and I don't think I'm the only one) is that you tend to veer so far off course that it can disrupt the thread. These things have a certain flow to them and you need to find it.

Well to be exact the BPJS/M/whatever has always been banning stuff that has been "dangerous and potentially harming for younger audiences"

this INCLUDES to this date: nazi stuff, violent films
this INCLUDED till the 80s: porn movies and "blasphemous" material
this STARTED TO INCLUDE later of course: video games

while I agree on the premise that younger audiences shoudl not get access to such material I dont get why these restrictions result in me getitng problems with the customs.

its called JUGENDSCHUTZGESETZ which means LAW FOR PROTECTION OF THE YOUTH

I AM 23!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL DO I HAVE TO DO WITH THIS!?!?

anyway while we re talking my next biohazard item is about to arrive from japan....maybe ill get into trouble again,if so ill post the letters so you can see for yourself what the madness is about

generally speaking Id like to say (i reside in germany but im not german) that all this of course has to do with the complex german society,it does have something to with the historical debt-complex that many german (politicians) have, the fear of BEING REGARDED as racist/nazi or whatever and thus the sheer exaggerated reactions in these things, german laws are actually totally fruitless when it comes to videogames since all neigbouring countries dont give a crap, the only persons that get pissed off are like ME,people who buy a resident evil game because of its big box and not because of its content (which is already 10 years old and has been played a dozen times already)

i also want to point out that the german society does not want to be REGARDED as racist,id like to point that out

statistics show that even today discrimination persists in german society like in non other european one

I as a non german have experience the whole ABC in germany such as D like discrimination,I like intolerance and of course R like racism

I think the problem is that many german(s)(politicians) dont understand the difference between the historical debt and the debt-complex,everyone is afraid to step up and say something "liberal" due to the fear of being classified as a racist

also the german political system is based on a federation, theres no such thing as typical german, some parts of germany are very liberal and some (the place I live) are conservative down to their bones

(example: last year there was some erotic traid fair over here and people censored the ONLY PARTLY visible nudity)

this post is already too long.....lol break for now

Actually, Germany aren't the only guys who censors with stupid cutting or editing in films UK has gone haywire when it comes to "extreme" porn. And USA would not accept the new "borat" unless the anal scene (MM) was either edited out or cut out. But then again it is so damn typical, that I don't care. After all, I have seen so many films on vhs and what not before I turned 16 which was for people that should be 16 . But hey do you know what ? I am quite happy that I live in Denmark with our extreme laid back attitude when it comes to certain stuff. Such as censorship and what not.

When you're referring to statistics please post a reference link. I can't quite believe you that there's a statistic showing what a discriminating country we are, if you ask me, this is plain bullshit. Take France for an example. People from Maghreb have it a whole lot harder to find jobs, get their career running.

Of course one can experience the whole ABC in Germany, but that's nothing exclusive. If you're living at the wrong place, you'll experience it anywhere in the world - my guess. You can hardly live as a transsexual in a small Bavarian village of 20 inhabitants, having a peaceful residence in a turkish quarter if you're campaigner of the PKK is just as impossible. You say there was an Erotic Fair in your city last year so it has to be Kassel or Dortmund... both of them are rather open-minded and far from conversative.

Well yeah, but it has also come to quite some disadvantages due to Denmark's "laid back attitude" such as the creation of a very organized child porn industry in the 1960's-70's as it was legal to sell child porn on film/photo. Pedophiles from all the world travelled to Denmark, thousands of childs were getting abused just because of a missing law. But that's off-topic.

Well, you are NOT the first one to mention that horrible shit. Madhatter256, was the first one who mentioned it in an attack . But it ISN'T my fault . That it thrived until 1982 where the law was changed. If it was up to me, and I could go back in time. Then that law was changed back in 1969. But since we are at it, until somewhere in the 1990´s it was A OK to buy childporn in Sweden under the counter . And it was first when Queen Silvia said on public TV that it was horrible. And the law should be changed , that it happened. So the mentioning is deflected automatically when some body mentions it . Because I know about it, but hey if you want to attack me. Then attack people on something I or any one else can do about. And for your information I was born in 1982. So let us for once stay on topic, okay ? and Color Climax made more normal porn than their horrible murky side. And a joke, about the location of you. Well, my mom misses you.

4000. post and so what ?

Nakian, people here want SOURCES for everything, and if it is in another language than English or any other language that is NOT spoken by many then they will doubt you unless some friendly guy basically backs your language up. And well, actually then some people doubts Wikipedia too(not here, or for that matter have I experienced it here yet). So if you are a member of a language family which is not spoken by many, then you are either screwed or shit out of luck. if you do not have other people who can back up your language. Because they can understand the language.

I know about the education system and its bad sides. And you're very right stating that this is not the only aspect of Germany that slowly develops to a "two class society" - I am totally agreeing on that.

BUT just like racism or nazism this is not a German phenomenon. Just look at the US: if you're poor and have no job, you're fucked. Germany is much more social about that yet other things might be lacking. Or France, as I said there's a hell load of discrimination going on against people from the Maghreb. A lot of industrialized countries begin to divide into two parts...

    @WDK
No offense man, I never said it was yours. Just used this example to point something out.

The good and bad side of Color Climax is another thing that surely goes a bit far off-topic here. While their regular work can really be considered "legendary", don't underestimate the number of animal/rape/child porn they did. I did some very deep research on this company and simply the fact that it is really hard to find information on them makes some things very clear.

PS Off-Topic: You as a Danish person, do you know if everything was dubbed German in the original version or were there indeed loops w/Danish voice?
