Just a question, who did the Japanese product info for you or do Microsoft do that themselves? On the JPN 360 market place it has the English description followed by a Japanese one plus the game has a Japanese sub-title. Most none Japanese games are all in English. Anyway, got the game and for 80 points it's well worth it. It will surely be getting a playthough this weekend with a few mates and a few beers  Yakumo
Perfect game for playing drunk. :smashed: About the translations: I only entered an English description and title. The way the "review" process works for the indie games is that each language requires a separate review process and the game is held back until all the languages are approved. Unfortunately, there is really no one who reviews games outside of English, so multilingual games never get through review or take forever. I would have liked to have supported all of the languages possible otherwise. I wasn't aware that they auto-translated any of the game information. Is the translation a good one at least? Top 5 for now too.
Nice job, Mairsil. I really like the mallet movement. My only wish is that there's a way to reset the puck when it moves nearly horizontal on the opposing side. To prevent people from resetting the puck to make it easier to line up a straight vertical shot, you could subtract one from the lives, add previously removed blocks back in, or set a random 'x' starting position. One bug to report. When I made it to the 3rd / 4th level of Puck Breaker, the puck didn't show up and the mallet was able to move past the divide, off of the table, and I could move it around the room. I couldn't leave the table off the left / right / bottom sides of the table, but if I came around, I could get the mallet back on. If any of this additional information helps: - it was the first time I played the game. before starting puck breaker, I selected the "local" play option, but exited - the second song started playing shortly before the problem happened - the puck went into my goal about three times before the problem occured - i won the first level with all of the pieces being removed from the table
There is a bit of a "cheat" in Puckbreaker when this happens. After a set period of time, I add a bit of gravity to the puck to bring it back to the player's side. This prevents the puck from getting stuck on the wrong side due to a physics engine floating point issue. I didn't want to put in a reset button, since it takes you out of the game. The delay is fairly long, but it's to account for situations where the puck is legitimately bouncing around on the far side. I went through hell to get the Farseer engine able to run fast enough for an air hockey game and spent most of the QA time just testing the physics. I'll look into this, but it shouldn't be possible for that to ever happen.:crying: Did the puck "flicker" at it's normal starting point or just not appear after going in the goal? Do you remember how the puck entered the goal (fast, slow, angle) or where the mallet was at that moment? Did the goal sound play and did the field/mallet reset for the next level?
Wow, I think people actually like this game. Looks like I might have found a neglected niche. Some current stats*: #2 "Top Download" Indie Game #5 "Best Selling" Indie Game #24 Overall on the "Xbox Popularity Meter" 16.23% Conversion rate * I don't know how the rankings are compiled, but they are updated on a daily basis. These stats are from 1/31/10.
Congarts on doing so well, if i get the chance i'll make this my first 360/indie game purchase as it does look fun.
After one week, Glide has had over 16,000 trials. Now moving on to finishing up the voiceovers for Bingo Party...
:noooo: I'm using a client-server style networking architecture, with physics simulations running on all systems which need to be synced. I'd like it to be better, but it certainly works as it is (and would probably take me another month to get very little improvement at this point).
I'm on level 11 right now. It's tough! Also, just figured out that the right thumbstick adjusts the camera. You should have seen the look on my face when I accidentally bumped the stick and I'm suddenly looking at the bottom of the table! Awesome game dude!
I have no way of playing this as my 360 died on me. I don't plan on ever looking back either because I can't stand how poorly made these units are. THAT ASIDE... My Live account had ~200 points left on its balance so I bought this game via the marketplace website http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8025855042b/ So there, I supported you even though I can't try out your product. Better than letting the points rot for eternity.
My apologies to whoever I was just playing with (if they are from here); I suck at my own game...
