It was, but not now that you showed up!

Okay, I sent him a PM over at Rareware Central, so hopefully he'll come update the total soon.

I paid to Brandon the rest of the community dump.

Rom should be released any time now.

    :biggrin-new:

Btw: still need an PM from Assemblergames for my own community dump.

Sorry if I'm a bit too late, a big thanks to olivieryuyu for donating the remaining amount needed. DL: http://rarewarecentral.com/content/beta/gloverprototype.zip

I've just tried to boot it in PJ64 and it does not work, does work in Nemu though. It has run in PJ64 before though so not sure if it's only me.

Info: On the games main menu, press up once and you'll be able to access a level select mode. Debug menu is accessed by using the second controller (I believe).

Guess this seals the deal on me buying an N64 flash cart. Individual carts are too pricy to build.

Thanks Brandon.F I'm so glad this got preserved, I absolutely love beta content and by extension video game prototypes plus Glover is a very good N64 game one of the most fun N64 games I played and it's so underrated.

Looks like a bad dump to me... the checksum is invalid and it doesn't boot on real hardware (using a 64drive) nor in PJ64

Did a checksum fix and it boots in PJ as well as real hardware, but I fear it's a bad dump

Also, it's safe to resize to 64mbit

Thanks a ton Brandon and olivieryuyu & everyone else who donated! I just played through Glover a few months ago and really loved it, so this is super exciting to get to see some good beta stuff.

Buuuuut yeah, won't boot on my Everdrive.

How does one go about doing a checksum fix?

Aha, thanks! Worked like a charm. I'm OFF to go play some Glover.

EDIT: So I tried it out for a while, and there's a good deal of beta stuff in there. Some interesting things:

    - all of the levels I've tried have completely different songs. Haven't heard a single track from the final version! (the Atlantis level 1 theme is my favorite song from the finished game, so I'm glad they changed that one)
    - most of Glover's voice sound effects are different
    - Glover has two stitches on his back rather than a red star
    - when you're about to slap or throw the ball, the projected path is cloudy instead of a dotted line
    - the font used through most of the game is all lowercase which makes the Mr. Tip dialogue look a bit weird. Final one is all caps
    - no cheat code bird swinging from the tree

And of course there's many many more bugs and other cool things.

A little buggy? For anyone wanting to fix the checksum using it - don't let it install GiveIO.sys (all hell breaks loose on an x64 system), it doesn't like paths and filenames with spaces in them and the installer won't install anywhere apart from the root of a drive...
I recommend using it inside a virtual machine (of Windows 2000).
Thanks for the tip though - it did work and my Everdrive 64 now boots the ROM on real hardware (PAL).

As for the rom itself- I [can't seem to find any debugging features other than the level select] EDIT: loads of debug stuff, see below and the some of the demos on the main menu are very broken (glover crashes into walls and jumps out of level randomly, but others work fine).

EDIT: Found some sort of debug graph - Controller in port 4, press Z for a sec.
Found some [collision? or attack range? view] EDIT2: nope, its a water effect test - Controller in port 4, hold d-pad up, faint white lines appear around glover.
Found some lighting? test - Controller in port 4, press d-pad left, glover cycles pink stripes?!?
Found a [moonjump] EDIT2: its the up & down for disabled gravity - Controller in port 4, hold c-up to fly up, hold c-down to fly down.
Found a way to cycle thru level positions (warps? checkpoints?) - Controller in port 4, c-left and c-right to cycle through positions.

EDIT2: Found how to disable gravity - Controller in port 4, press R to toggle on/off.

EDIT3: Found a test noise - Controller in port 4, press start, ball pop noise plays.
Controller in port 3 does nothing as far as I can tell.
Controller in port 2 does nothing as far as I can tell.
